NATO-KFOR’s mission is to contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment as mandated by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999. In carrying out its mission, NATO cooperates and assists the United Nations, the European Union and other international actors, as appropriate, to support the development of a stable and peaceful Kosovo. KFOR supports the development of professio

nal, democratic and multi-ethnic security structures in Kosovo. Today, around 4.300 troops from the KFOR, provided by 29 Allied and partner countries continue to work towards maintaining a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all people in Kosovo.

The Commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, welcomed His Excellency Ferit Hoxha, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania, to KFOR Headquarters at Camp Film City in Pristina.

During the meeting, the Commander provided an overview of the current security situation in Kosovo, KFOR’s ongoing activities, and its key future priorities. Major General Ulutaş also highlighted Albania’s longstanding and valuable contribution to the NATO-led KFOR mission.

Soldiers assigned to Regional Command-West (RC-W), part of the NATO-led KFOR mission, together with RC-W’s Veterinary Medical Team and Disinfection Team, conducted a pest control operation in both the indoor and outdoor areas of the kindergarten in Osojan/Osojane, in the Municipality of Istog/Istok.

The aim of the activity was to enhance health, well-being, and hygiene standards for children and staff, given that the kindergarten is located in a rural area and is more susceptible to pest infestations.

Such initiatives highlight KFOR’s continued commitment to working with local partners and institutions to help ensure a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo, in a transparent and impartial manner, with particular attention to education and youth development.

Soldiers from various contributing nations within Regional Command-East (RC-E), part of the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission, took part in the Norwegian Foot March training event at Camp Bondsteel, testing their endurance, determination and teamwork.

The demanding event brought together multinational participants to complete an 18.6-mile foot march while carrying a rucksack within a prescribed time standard, enhancing resilience, strengthening camaraderie and reinforcing partnerships across the force.

The Commander of the NATO-led Kosovo Force (KFOR) mission, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, welcomed the Honorable Keith Self, U.S. Representative for Texas and Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Europe, accompanied by the Honorable Suhas Subramanyam, U.S. Representative for Virginia and the Ranking Member of the Oversight Subcommittee on Military and Foreign Affairs, to KFOR Headquarters at Camp Film City in Pristina.
