Saturday was a productive day for our Junior Board at CAMBA Garden II! With help from , they gained insight into various herbs, plants, and flowers, followed by weeding and planting activities.

📣 Celebrating National Small Business Week! 📣

CAMBA proudly supports the strength and spirit of local small businesses. In 2024, our Small Business Services helped 767 individuals, leading to $282,000 in increased sales and the creation of 19 new businesses. We also supported 14 businesses in hiring and retention and provided workshops to 505 people. Over the years, we've helped launch 110 businesses and conducted 1,318 counseling sessions.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 🎉 At CAMBA, we're proud to support the educators who empower the next generation through our diverse education and youth programs. Last year alone, we served over 11,000 students through initiatives like our Beacon Community Centers, COMPASS Elementary Afterschool, Learning to Work, and the Summer Youth Employment Program. We celebrate the dedication of teachers who guide these young minds towards success!

Today, April 30th, we stood together for Denim Day at CAMBA, raising awareness and showing support for survivors of sexual violence. Denim Day began after a controversial Italian Supreme Court ruling that overturned a r**e conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans, implying she consented. Wearing denim on this day is a powerful way to challenge these victim-blaming myths.

As April is also Child Abuse Awareness Month, we recognize the importance of protecting all vulnerable individuals in our community. Just as Denim Day challenges victim-blaming, Child Abuse Awareness Month encourages us to create safe environments and support systems for children. Participants engaged by wearing denim, accessing vital resources at our information table, signing pledges to take action, and decorating patches as a symbol of solidarity.
