🌊 Straight A's for Carlsbad beaches! 🏖️

Every Carlsbad beach included in Heal the Bay's 2025-26 Beach Report Card earned an A grade or better for water quality, with three beaches making the Honor Roll.

Help keep our ocean clean:
💦 Keep sprinkler water off streets
🐾 Pick up pet waste
🧹 Sweep, don't hose
🔋 Dispose of hazardous waste properly

Anything that enters a storm drain flows untreated to local creeks, lagoons and the ocean.

See water flowing into the street, illegal dumping or another pollution concern? Report it to the City's Storm Water Hotline at 442-339-2799.

Join us for special kickoff events on Saturday, June 6 at all three library locations:
📚 Local Author Fair, 11 am - 3 pm, Dove Library
🖌️ Pot Painting & Seed Planting Event , 11 am to 2 pm, Library Learning Center
🧩 Puzzles & Play, 10 am to noon, Cole Library

The 2026 Summer Reading Adventure starts June 1. 🌱📚 This year’s theme, “Plant a Seed, Read,” celebrates how stories help us grow. 🌼

Here’s how to get started:
✅ Login or create an account at carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org then sign up for 2026 Summer Reading Adventure
✅ On June 1 start logging your reading time to earn rewards like ice cream, fair tickets and more
✅ Join us for kickoff events at all three Carlsbad Libraries on June 6

🌟 Bonus: Children in grade 6 and under can receive a free book by sharing their recent reads with a friendly volunteer in the children's area of each library location.
