Respected Sir,
Telangana is under severe Covid-19 situation. Every day hundreds of new cases can be identified and count is going higher and higher. As Gandhi Hospital is unable to take up more pressure of patients, Telangana government decided to allow private hospitals to start treating Covid-19 patients. Lots of patients who didn’t got admission in Gandhi hospital went to private hospitals for treatment and private hospitals taking advantage of critical situation of patients and charging them in lakhs in the name of treatment, we have come across so many cases where these corporate hospitals billed patient 8 lacs or 10 Lacs and for collection of that money they are harassing patients’ family members, which is completely inhuman and uncivilized action from corporate hospitals. We as DYFI activists condemn this type corporate loot by hospitals in the name of treatment. We demand health care should be taken care by govt and in this medical emergency situation where Corona pandemic is on its peak, we demand Telangana government to take care of all the citizens and make sure that their healthcare is government’s responsibility. We demand that government should start Arogyasri Scheme immediately and should cover all the diseases including Covid-19. Government should take responsibility of citizens in this critical situation and save them from loot by corporate hospitals.
