URGENT CLARIFICATION AND DISCLAIMER ON A FRAUDULENT ONLINE CIRCULAR
For Immediate Release:
As the leadership of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Kano State Command, we wish to issue this important statement to assure the Kano State Government, under the leadership of His Excellency, Executive Governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, as well as the entire public of Kano State, that:
The image currently circulating on social media—which contains a call reminding the Governor of promises and requesting operational equipment on behalf of VGN, Kano State—is FAKE AND DOES NOT EMANATE FROM US.
We wish to emphasize the following points:
These Individuals Are Not VGN Members:
Those who created and circulated this image and message are not registered members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), nor do they have any affiliation with our organization.
This is the work of impostors attempting to hijack the name of the organization to deceive the public and the government.
No Authorization from the Commander: This post was created without our knowledge, without the approval of the Kano State VGN leadership, and without the authority of the State Commander.
We emphasize that the Commander explicitly disassociates the command from this publication and the individuals behind it.
Official Leadership Clarification:
We hereby inform the public that the authentic State Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Kano State Command, is Commander Amb. Shehu Rabiu.
Any post stating otherwise is untrue.
Call for Investigation: We urge security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for fabricating and spreading this fraudulent circular.
The Kano State VGN remains steadfastly committed to collaborating with the Kano State Government under Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and working alongside formal security agencies to safeguard the lives and property of the people of Kano State.
