Yesterday we celebrated SFC Miller accepting his appointment as a Warrant Officer. SFC Miller has been an outstanding supply NCO and Senior Logistician. Now, he opens a new chapter, as he pins WO1, and becomes the Property Book Officer for the 115th Field Artillery Brigade. WO1 Miller exemplifies the Powder River standard in everything he does!

Let ‘Er Buck Mr. Miller!

On this Memorial Day we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We pause to reflect on their courage, their unwavering sense of duty, and their profound loyalty to our country and to one another. Their sacrifice is not just a moment in history—it is a call to us all to live lives worthy of the freedoms we’ve been given, to remember them not just in ceremony, but in action, in gratitude, and in our continued service to others.

As part of this tribute, we perform the flag folding ceremony—a time-honored tradition that represents the dignity and honor afforded to those who have served under the American flag. The folding of the flag is a sacred gesture of respect, symbolizing our nation’s deep appreciation for a life lived in service and a death marked by honor.

Military Funeral Honors, mandated by law under the National Defense Authorization Act of 2000, are the final salute from a grateful nation to its veterans. At a minimum, these honors include the folding and presentation of the American flag and the playing of Taps. These honors are not mere rituals—they are solemn vows that we will never forget those who have given everything. They serve as a final act of recognition, a visible and emotional reminder that no service, no sacrifice, goes unnoticed.

Today, as we fold this flag, let it serve as a symbol of our remembrance and our commitment to carry forward the values our fallen heroes died defending. Let us be steadfast in our resolve to ensure that their names are spoken, their stories are shared, and their sacrifice is never taken for granted.

May we honor them not only with our words, but with our lives.

Despite facing significant challenges, Bravo Battery continues to train for the live fire exercise. So far, Bravo has contended with communication issues, heavy rain, and intense heat. Their resilience and dedication ensured that all issues are worked through and goals are met with precision and professionalism. Today we say farewell and good luck to Bravo Battery as we send them off on the deployment! This deployment marks the first time the 2-300th Field Artillery Battalion has deployed as a whole, while supporting a field artillery mission since the Korean War.
