g care and finding forever homes for the homeless pets in the community. We strive to create awareness about and improve people's perception about shelter pets. We also want to prevent unwanted and abandoned pets by educating the public about the benefits of spaying and neutering pets and about responsible pet ownership.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their courage and selflessness gave us the freedoms we cherish every day, and for that, we are forever grateful. 🇺🇸


At FWACC, we’re honored to support veterans year-round through our P.A.W.S. for Patriots program, pairing shelter dogs with retired veterans in need of companionship, support and healing. 🐾💙


These dogs aren’t military working dogs, they’re shelter pets given a second chance to make a difference in someone’s life.

🏡 Training, supplies and support provided
💙 Changing lives, one connection at a time


Today, we honor the legacy of those who served by continuing to care for the heroes still walking beside us.

Some of these dogs have been waiting patiently for their person… and we’d really love for that wait to end soon. 🐶💙


Our shelters are currently at capacity, and fostering or adopting can truly change the path for a dog in need. Time outside the shelter helps them relax, recharge, and show off the personalities that make people fall in love. 🏡✨


Whether it’s a forever home or a short foster stay, every dog who leaves helps create space for another pet waiting for their chance.

Looking for weekend plans for the end of the month? We’ve got you covered 🐾🎨
Join Fort Worth Animal Care & Control next weekend at the 2026 CERA Arts Festival for a weekend full of local art, live music, food trucks and adoptable dogs looking for loving homes. Browse local artists indoors, then head outside to meet shelter and foster pups ready to show off their personalities in a fun, relaxed setting. 🐶💙


Events like this help our dogs connect with potential adopters outside of the shelter while giving the community a chance to learn more about adoption, fostering and volunteering with FWACC.

Blue is the kind of dog who just wants to be near his people 💙🐾


This sweet boy may start off lounging in his kennel, but the second you call his name, his whole body lights up with a wagging tail and happy energy. Blue loves exploring, soaking up attention and staying close to his people. He’s easy to leash up, happy to head outside and ready to trade shelter life for a place to finally call home. 🏡


Our shelters are currently at capacity, and dogs like Blue need adopters and fosters now more than ever. Even a short break from the shelter can make a huge difference.

A big thank you to the TCU Women’s Tennis Team for spending their service day with Fort Worth Animal Care & Control 💙🐾


From helping in the sensory garden and organizing the foster closet to making enrichment toys for shelter pets, their hard work made a meaningful impact for the animals in our care. They even took time to visit with one very sweet pup who soaked up every second of the attention. 🐶


We’re so grateful for community partners like TCU Athletics who show up, give back and help make life a little brighter for our shelter pets.

From May 29–June 1, this special clinic will provide FREE spay and neuter surgeries for dogs and cats belonging to low-income families. Our goal is to help alter more than 750 pets in just a few days, because prevention changes everything. 💙


This clinic is sponsored by Wings of Rescue and performed in partnership with Helping Paws Across Borders, alongside amazing community partners working together to create lasting impact for pets and the people who love them.
