Housing is a massive issue for young people, and more complicated than the government or any political party would have you believe.

Planning for houses isn’t the same as building houses. Building homes to rent isn’t the same as building homes to buy.

The quicker we start acknowledging the need for serious reforms to tax, skilled visas and infrastructure, the quicker we might start making home ownership more realistic.

📉 After 20 months of the Minns Labor Government, the people of NSW are worse off:

❌ Housing approvals at a 12-year low
❌ Rents up nearly 10%
❌ Hospital wait times worst in 14 years
❌ Business insolvencies up over 40%
❌ Cost-of-living pressures skyrocketing

NSW is experiencing constant strikes, we’ve seen thousands of surgeries cancelled and vital infrastructure projects impacted by industrial chaos.

Chris Minns promised stability but delivered paralysis. At least 52 reviews and inquiries announced, yet little meaningful action.

The Ryde Liberals welcomes the NSW Government’s decision to protect the entire TG Millner site as public open space for the growing Macquarie Park Innovation District. Mayor Clr Brown has continuously advocated for the retention of TG Millner since 2018 and previously written to the Premier for New South Wales, as well as the Minister for Sport, the Minister for Local Government, and the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces to encourage them to provide the funding as promised by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure to ensure the purchase and future management of the TG Millner Fields

This vital step ensures future residents, students, and workers have access to quality recreational space in one of Australia’s key economic precincts. With demand for open space rising, TG Millner Fields will play a crucial role in supporting active recreation and community wellbeing.

We’ll continue to push for funding to secure and enhance this space to meet the needs of our thriving community.
