I’m excited to share that I, Michael Goodnow, have officially filed to run for re-election to the Bremerton City Council to continue representing the great people of District 5. I'm proud of what we've accomplished together over the past two terms—but I know there’s more work ahead. I’m energized and ready to keep moving Bremerton forward in a progressive direction. Bremerton Firefighters Head to California to Support Wildfire Efforts

Today, members of the Bremerton Fire Department are answering the call for assistance, traveling to California to join the fight against devastating wildfires. Their courage, skill, and willingness to help in times of crisis exemplify the spirit of service that defines our community.

We are incredibly proud of our firefighters for stepping up to support our neighbors in need and are grateful for their dedication and sacrifice. As they take on this critical mission, we extend our deepest gratitude and prayers for their safety, as well as for all the first responders and communities impacted by these fires.

Stay safe, and thank you for representing Bremerton with such honor and bravery.

Honoring the Bremerton Police Department on National Law Enforcement Day

Today, on National Law Enforcement Day, I want to take a moment to recognize the people of the Bremerton Police Department for their service and dedication to our community.

In challenging times, we ask a lot of our officers: to uphold the law, to respond to emergencies, and to work in partnership with the community they serve. These expectations come with immense responsibility, and I am grateful for the ways our department continually strives to meet them with professionalism and care.

As we acknowledge their service, we also recognize the ongoing conversations about equity, accountability, and trust in policing. These discussions are vital to ensuring that public safety reflects the values of fairness and justice for all. I commend the Bremerton Police Department for engaging with our community and working toward meaningful progress that strengthens those bonds of trust.

Thank you to every officer who has dedicated themselves to serving Bremerton with integrity and compassion. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. Let’s continue to support one another as we build a stronger, safer, and more connected community together.

Happy National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day!
