🇱🇻 NAMEJS across Latvia 🇱🇻

✅ The comprehensive State Defence Exercise NAMEJS has been taking place across Latvia since the beginning of September.

✅ The exercise brings together approximately 12,000 Latvian and Allied soldiers and National Guard members.

✅ Working together across various regions of Latvia, these efforts demonstrate our unity, readiness and determination to defend every part of Latvia.

✅ This is another year in which NAMEJS is conducted with this level of joint cooperation between the Latvian Joint Headquarters and .

As Italy has stood with NATO and Latvia, today we stand with Italy.

We are in full support of the injured soldiers, their families, and their fellow soldiers.

INCIDENTE IN ADDESTRAMENTO IN LETTONIA

Nel tardo pomeriggio di oggi, nel corso di un’esercitazione a fuoco presso l’area addestrativa di Ādaži, in Lettonia, si è verificato un incidente che ha coinvolto quattro militari italiani dell’Esercito, appartenenti all’11° Reggimento Bersaglieri, impegnati nell’ambito della missione NATO Forward Land Forces (FLF) in Lettonia.
Per cause attualmente in corso di accertamento, durante l’esercitazione si è verificato un incidente con un'arma da fuoco non automatizzata installata su un veicolo militare italiano. I colpi esplosi hanno raggiunto un altro veicolo militare italiano sul quale si trovavano i quattro militari coinvolti.
I quattro militari sono stati immediatamente soccorsi e trasferiti presso una struttura sanitaria di Riga, dove sono attualmente sottoposti alle cure e agli accertamenti necessari.
Secondo le informazioni attualmente disponibili, uno dei quattro militari presenta condizioni più serie. Nessuno dei militari risulta, al momento, in pericolo di vita.
Sono state immediatamente avviate tutte le verifiche necessarie per accertare le cause e ricostruire la dinamica dell’accaduto. I familiari sono stati informati.
Il Ministro della Difesa, Guido Crosetto, è costantemente informato dal Capo di Stato Maggiore della Difesa, Generale Luciano Portolano, e dal Comandante del COVI, Generale di Corpo d’Armata Giovanni Maria Iannucci, sulle condizioni dei quattro militari e sugli sviluppi degli accertamenti in corso.
Il Ministro, i Vertici militari e la Difesa tutta sono vicini ai propri commilitoni feriti ed alle loro famiglie con l’augurio di una pronta guarigione.

Ludzas un Zilupes apkārtnē notika mācības “Amber Blade", kuru laikā tika pilnveidotas vienības spējas veikt aizsardzības operācijas un izpildīt uzdevumus ārpus militāriem objektiem.

Mācību mērķis ir stiprināt valsts aizsardzības spējas, pilnveidojot karavīru un zemessargu gatavību uzdevumu izpildei dažādos apvidus apstākļos. Apmācība ārpus Ādažu militārā poligona sniedz iespēju trenēt vienību spēju darboties reālā vidē, izmantojot Latvijas ceļu tīklu, mežus, pļavas un citu civilo infrastruktūru.

📚 This week Multinational Division North, as ’s land force in Latvia 🇱🇻, with the support of NATO Allied Land Command , hosted staff members from 15 different countries for the NATO School CREVAL or Combat Readiness Evaluation course.

✅ CREVAL helps ensure that NATO Allies speak the same language, said MND-N Deputy Commander Brigadier General Ilmārs Atis Lejiņš, speaking to course participants.

🎓 More than 90 participants took part in the course, working in syndicates to combine knowledge and experience from across the Alliance while developing a common understanding of NATO’s readiness evaluation processes and standards.

Second International Drone Summit took place in Riga, Latvia 🇱🇻 today.

Sector experts, industry representatives and NATO Allies all came together to exchange knowledge and strengthen cooperation.

At a time when we face constant technological competition, collaboration and knowledge-sharing have never been more critical.

Earlier this year, Multinational Division North, NATO’s Land Force in Latvia, supported the launch of the NATO DIANA accelerator in Riga, partnering with UniLab to provide military mentorship and subject-matter expertise to participating companies.

Together with NATO Multinational Brigade Latvia, we will continue this work, because strong relationships between industry and the military are vital for developing the capabilities needed to fight and succeed on the battlefield.

DIANA - the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic - is a NATO organisation dedicated to identifying and accelerating dual-use innovation to address critical defence and security challenges.
