Marine Corps Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a mandatory program designed to ensure the continuum of care for eligible family members. The primary function of EFMP is to provide coordination and support throughout the assignment process, ensuring the availability and accessibility of needed services in order to enhance quality of life and meet the mission of the Marine Corps. Information regarding an EFMP enrollment will appear in the EFM health records and the HQMC EFMP registry. The case file kept by the EFMP staff will be kept strictly confidential. The EFMP registry shall not become an element of the Manpower Management System, individual record books or the parent command records of the sponsor nor be referenced in performance appraisals such as fitness reports. To local law enforcement entities for the purpose of intervention to prevent harm to the individual (self) in accordance with DoD/military branch of service and component regulations and established protocols. Any release of information contained in this system of records outside the DoD under a routine use will be compatible with the purpose(s) for which the information is collected and maintained.
