MAYOR’S DIRECTIVE
Due to the continuous heavy rains and prevailing adverse weather conditions, and in the interest of ensuring the safety and welfare of all government employees, the undersigned hereby DIRECTS THE SUSPENSION OF WORK OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OF BAKUN ON MONDAY, AUGUST 10, 2026.
All Department Heads are directed to immediately inform their respective personnel and ensure the safety and security of government properties and facilities.
Personnel assigned to essential, emergency, disaster response, health, peace and order, rescue, and other critical services shall continue to report for duty as may be necessary.
The MDRRMO is directed to continuously monitor the weather situation and coordinate appropriate response measures.
This directive shall take effect immediately.

IGOROT PNP SAF TROOPER FROM BAKUN, BENGUET RANKS TOP 2 IN COMBAT TRACKING COURSE

Police Corporal (PCpl) Florante P. Camodag, an Igorot member of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP SAF) from Bakun, Benguet, earned Top 2 honors among 83 students in the prestigious Combat Tracking Course Class 49-2026 "CAZADORES."

The specialized course was conducted by the Scout Ranger School of the First Scout Ranger Regiment at Camp Tecson in San Miguel, Bulacan, and concluded on July 24, 2026.

Combat tracking is an advanced military and law enforcement skill that trains personnel to identify, analyze, and follow signs left by individuals or groups in various terrains. It is a critical capability used in search operations, counterinsurgency missions, and pursuit of armed suspects.

Camodag's achievement reflects his dedication, discipline, and professionalism as a member of the PNP SAF. It also serves as a source of pride for Bakun, Benguet, and the Cordillera region, highlighting the courage and resilience often associated with the Igorot people.

Congratulations to PCpl. Florante P. Camodag on this remarkable accomplishment, and best wishes for continued success in serving the nation.

July 24, 2026 || TREE PLANTING, TACADANG WATERSHED

​On July 24, 2026, our team joined hands with MENRO-Bakun headed by Sir Denver Mariacos, DENR-Province, local Barangay Officials and staff, and dedicated community volunteers for a tree planting activity at Tacadang Watershed.

​Protecting our natural resources takes a collective effort, and every 300 pine tree and 100 coffee seedlings put into the ground which will help safeguard our water supply, preserve biodiversity, and build a greener legacy for the generations ahead.

A huge thank you to everyone who stepped up, dug in, and showed what community action looks like!
