Our communities are preparing for through displays and discussions about our country’s rich military history. Pleasantview Place residents were deeply moved to hear from veterans like Sgt. Kathryne Kuhn, who served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1976-1998. Thank you and the for bringing these powerful stories to our seniors, and thanks to all who served and continue to fight for peace and freedom.

All you ‘knit’ is love! The dedicated knitting group from our GEF Rosslyn community visited the to attend a church service and donate some warm knitted items for those in need. With winter looming, our seniors are weaving a lot of love and time into knitting more toques, mitts and scarves to give back to the community.⁣

Autumn skies 🍂 and pumpkin pies 🥧. Our residents at Beverly Place Lodge enjoyed a cozy fall gathering this week. The 41 residents had a pumpkin pie social complete with whipped cream, warm coffee and great company. ⁣

Join us virtually for the unveiling of our 65th anniversary commemorative art project. The completed mosaic is made up of 56 canvases painted by our seniors and is inspired by their views on seniorhood.

In honour of Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society performed a Smudging Ceremony for residents and tenants of Pleasantview Place. It was beautiful and we learned a lot about the history of our Indigenous people.

GEF Seniors Housing acknowledges that our communities are located on the traditional territories of the people of Treaty 6. We recognize all nations, genders, and spirits who make their homes here and help us steward this land.

In honour of this year’s staff appreciation theme of ; the staff at Pleasantview Place Lodge worked together to plant and harvest a vegetable garden right on site! They prepared their own harvest lunch using produce from the garden. The 'icing on the cake' was Assistant Manager, Holly’s fabulous carrot cake! Staff enjoyed this journey and can hardly wait for next year’s growing season.

Our 65th Anniversary Summer Fairs kicked off this week!

Residents at Ottewell Place Lodge and Manor along with their families enjoyed a fun-filled evening playing games and winning prizes! The trishaw rides added excitement, complemented by delicious food and a petting zoo. Everyone loved posing in front of our stunning anniversary wings!
