تُعد كنوز الملك بسوسنس الأول (ملك الأسرة الحادية والعشرين) من أروع الاكتشافات الأثرية في مصر، حيث عُثر عليها سالمة وغير مسروقة داخل مقبرته الملكية بتانيس. وتشمل هذه الكنوز أقنعة ذهبية خلابة، وتوابيت من الفضة الخالصة، وحلياً نادرة تنافس في دقتها وجمالها كنوز الملك توت عنخ آمون. وتُعرف مقبرته تاريخياً باسم "مدينة الذهب المفقودة" نظراً للكميات الهائلة من الذهب والمعادن الثمينة التي رافقت مومياؤه.

تُعد الملكة حتشبسوت واحدة من أعظم نساء مصر القديمة وأكثرهن قوة، حيث حكمت البلاد كفرعون كامل الصلاحيات متبنيةً صفات الملوك التقليدية وسلطتهم "الرجولة الملكية" لتأكيد شرعيتها. تميز عهدها بالسلام المزدهر والرحلات التجارة الكبرى مثل رحلتها إلى بلاد بونت، إلى جانب إدارتها البارعة للحروب والمعارك لحماية حدود البلاد وتأكيد هيبتها. ورغم نجاحها السياسي والاقتصادي الهائل، واجهت بعد وفاتها محاولات ممنهجة لطمس تاريخها ومحو اسمها من على المعالم في محاولة خيانة سياسية لطمس إنجازاتها، لتبقى سيرتها رمزاً للذكاء والدهاء والفرادة التاريخية.
