LOOK: DOLE Caraga participated in the Bayanihan Para sa Balikbayang Manggagawa โ€“ National Reintegration Network (BBM-NRN) Regional Fair organized by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on June 3, 2026, at Robinsons Mall Butuan.

Through its information booth, DOLE Caraga provided workers with information and assistance on the Department's various programs and services aimed at promoting employment, livelihood, and workers' welfare.

HAPPENING NOW | DOLE Caraga Labor Inspectors convened today, June 2, 2026, at the Watergate Hotel in Butuan City to strategize the implementation of the labor inspection program for the remaining months of the year and assess first-half accomplishments and implementation gains to further strengthen program ex*****on in the succeeding months.

As part of the inspection drive, DOLE Caraga will prioritize vertical construction and high-rise building projects across the region due to the heightened occupational safety and health risks associated with construction work at elevated heights.

The inspection is part of the High Impact, High Visibility Labor Inspection strategy to ensure strict compliance with labor standards and workplace safety regulations, helping protect workers from accidents and hazardous working conditions.

More than 9,981 jeepney drivers and transport workers nationwide have already received emergency employment assistance under the Department of Labor and Employmentโ€™s (DOLE) TUPAD Tuloy Pasada Program.

As of May 28, the program, which is part of the Marcos administrationโ€™s continuing efforts to support vulnerable workers affected by rising fuel prices, has reached 9,981 beneficiaries, of which 3,343 has completed their work, while 6,638 has ongoing work out of the 50,454 targeted public utility jeepney (PUJ) drivers and transport workers nationwide, with total assistance amounting to P45.2 million.

CARAGA REGION โ€“ Brigada Eskwela 2026 officially kicked off in Agusan del Norte on June 1, with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga deploying 1,496 Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries across Cabadbaran City to support school preparation efforts as the province hosted the national launch of the annual nationwide school maintenance program at Cabadbaran City National High School.

The deployment is part of the convergence initiative between DOLE and the Department of Education (DepEd), providing 10 days of temporary employment to disadvantaged workers while helping prepare schools for School Year 2026โ€“2027.

Education Secretary Juan Edgardo โ€œSonnyโ€ Angara, who personally led the national launch, commended Caraga for successfully hosting both the recent Palarong Pambansa and the national Brigada Eskwela kick-off, citing the regionโ€™s strong culture of cooperation and active community participation.

Beyond Agusan del Norte, other provinces in Caraga also rolled out TUPAD support for Brigada Eskwela, with 693 beneficiaries deployed in Agusan del Sur, 994 in Surigao del Norte, 2,580 in Surigao del Sur, and 223 in Dinagat Islands, amounting to a P24.3 million allocation for the regionwide implementation.

Present during the activity were DOLE Caraga Assistant Regional Director Fatima Quorayce L. Bataga, Agusan del Norte Governor Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante, Agusan del Norte Lone District Representative Dale B. Corvera, Cabadbaran City Mayor Judy C. Amante, DepEd officials, partner stakeholders, teachers, and students.

The national kick-off, anchored on the theme โ€œBayanihan sa Paaralan: Pagkakaisa para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,โ€ gathered education officials, local leaders, teachers, learners, and stakeholders from across the country.

READ | Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara expressed gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for deploying more than 240,000 TUPAD workers nationwide to help prepare public schools for the opening of the new school year under the TUPAD Brigada Eskwela Initiative.

In Agusan del Norte, the host province of the Caraga Region, a total of 1,496 TUPAD workers deployed across various schools in Cabadbaran City. The workers rendered 10 days of temporary employment, supporting school cleanup, maintenance, and other preparatory activities to ensure schools are ready to welcome learners for the upcoming academic year.
