Q: Why did you choose WFI?
A: I was intrigued by their website, which touts a “people-first approach,” and after having gone through the interview process and speaking with one of their employees on LinkedIn, it certainly seems to be true. A people-first approach is important to me because I would like my next job to be collaborative in nature, rather than hierarchical, like the typical military work environment.

Q: What do you hope to achieve?
A: Through this internship, I want to gain viable, civilian-sector work experience with an established company. This position in particular will teach me more about the human capital needs of various companies, which in turn will enable me to grow into the human capital industry.

Q: How did HireMilitary help you?
A: They provided me with specific, one-on-one coaching regarding my resume and interview skills in addition to showing me that I have value as a potential employee in areas that I wasn’t even aware of. I actually worked with a different SkillBridge program prior to this, but they weren't able to pair me with a host employer. HireMilitary’s applicant-centered approach proved to make all the difference.

Tim serves as the Executive Leader for the Army’s Tailored Strategic Retention (TSR) program and VP of Strategic Growth for Tenova LLC/HireMilitary.

What did Tim do before he joined our team?

🔹He was a United States Marine.

While serving his country, Tim specialized in Electronics & served in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, attached to the Mine Field Maintenance Unit. After leaving Cuba, he finished his enlistment with the 8th Engineers’ Battalion in Camp Lejeune, NC.

🔹He worked on Wall Street.

Tim’s civilian career began in 1985 on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange where he worked as an electronics technician. He went on to become a Member of the exchange & build one of the largest independent floor brokerage firms. (If you ever have the pleasure of speaking with Tim, ask him how he landed his first job at the New York Stock Exchange. It’s a phenomenal story!)

🔹He joined American Corporate Partners (ACP).

In 2017, Tim joined ACP where he helped manage the relationships of over 100 Fortune 500 companies & added almost 50 companies in four years. Working daily with national veterans’ organizations, Tim brought ACP’s mentorship program to tens of thousands of servicemen and women and built ACP’s national presence through speaking engagements and interviews in media outlets to include Bloomberg Television, CBS, FOX, Cheddar, WABC Radio, numerous print and trade magazines, blogs and social media.

The Challenge 245,000 service members separate from the military every year with valuable and desirable skills but: • They don’t know where to search • Employers don’t have access bases • Hiring Managers prefer exact skill and experience matches • Service members have difficulty translating their skills Wouldn’t you like to access this talent before your competitors and save money? The Solution Through the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program, we help companies: • Hire transitioning service members (veterans) from anywhere in the world • Employ them FULL-TIME for up to six months without paying salary, benefits or insurance In fact, you are not allowed to pay them anything. The service member continues receiving all military pay, benefits and insurance for the duration of the employment program. There just has to be the potential for continued employment. It is a win-win for everyone! Service members gain valuable experience and companies gain a valuable employee at no cost or risk to their operations. The Details This is completely free for transitioning service members and there is no cost for employers to sign up and post opportunities. If either a transitioning service member or employer indicates interest, we’ll connect you for an interview to determine if it is mutual. We then handle all coordination with the military before, during and after the program.

Hi there! My company Air Nine Two is actively seeking Skillbridge applicants. For our program you will be flying as a FO for Part 135 charter operations. Our current schedule is 14 days on and 7 days of rotation. You have the ability to live anywhere in the United states. The preferred length of time for the program is 180 days but we can be flexible based your your situation. Minimum requirements are as followed: -1000 hours of total flight time -500 PIC -25 Multi Engine -FAA first class medical certificate -Valid passport -Willing to obtain a CE750 Type rating and ATP if you do not have these already. -Our ideal candidate will be able to fund the majority of the cost of these with their GI bill and we cover the remainder. Our goal is to offer full time employment to our candidates after completion of the program as First Officers with quick upgrade time to Captains. We offer very competitive pay and benefits.
