Yesterday I banged the final gavel and concluded the last session of the 17th Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
I started this journey with idealism, and with fire. I first worked with veterans then with some who were new. But if there is something we all have in common--we are believers in service.
Despite the noise, the pressure, the politics — I always showed up.
I showed up for our constituents. I showed up even when it was difficult. I showed up even in those times when I felt like not showing up because I was tired, misunderstood, or underestimated.
After 9 years, I will be leaving the SP halls...but I don't leave empty. I leave with lessons, scars, memories — and most of all, hope. Hope that those who will come after us will carry the torch further, brighter, and bolder.
To those stepping in:
This isn’t just about positions. This is about purpose.
Remember that every ordinance you pass can uplift or oppress. Every silence can bless or betray.
And now, as I lay down this mandate, one final time, I say:
We came. We served. We fought. And we made it count.
This is not goodbye. This is just a pause —
Because when your purpose is bigger than your position,
You never really stop serving.
Salamat Davao del Sur sa oportunidad nga maka serbisyo nimo.
Your lioness is not done roaring.
