Friends,

My last day as the Assemblymember for the 35th District was yesterday. It has been an honor and a privilege. Together we accomplished great things for the Central Coast, CA, and beyond. My sincerest thanks to the constituents of .

Our work is not done. Our infrastructure needs investment…our kids need protection online…we have to intelligently decarbonize…human trafficking must be fought…Career Tech Ed needs support. I won’t stop fighting for these issues in the private sector.

Looking forward to partnering with anyone and everyone that has passion for these issues and wants to build a better world.

Enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the new Council for Responsible Social Media via zoom this morning.

While my time in the Legislature is coming to an end, there is still much more work to be done to rein in Big Tech and stop them from causing generational harm to our children. Thank you to the newly-formed Council for Responsible Social Media for inviting me to speak about our efforts to protect kids here in California.

Three weeks ago, we passed historic legislation to keep Diablo Canyon online through 2030.

For years, we've told anybody who would listen how critical Diablo's 2+ gigawatts of power is to keeping the lights on. After six years of hard work, we were finally able to convince the Legislature and the Governor to keep Diablo online.

Thank you all for your efforts to help save Diablo Canyon!

Huge win for California kids. Thankful for my colleague Asm. Buffy Wicks, who coauthored this critical bill with me. And a huge thank you to the Governor for signing , which requires tech platforms used by kids to be designed in ways that protect children.

California is once again leading the nation in online privacy protections and rights.

The bill could require many social media sites, games and other online services used by children to install protections for minors.

Friends - we did it. Diablo Canyon's life will be extended another 5 years.

Diablo Canyon produces nearly 10% of our state's electricity. It's baseload power, it’s carbon free, it employs thousands of local residents - and we desperately need it to keep the lights on in California.

I am proud of and grateful to my colleagues for their support on this absolutely critical measure. After years of hard work, Diablo Canyon’s importance to our state’s residents has finally been recognized.

Friends - an update from Sacramento.

I am proud to be the author of a new bill that will extend Diablo Canyon for an additional 5 years. Keeping Diablo Canyon online will help us keep the lights on, save the ratepayers billions and protect thousands of local jobs.

We have worked for years to save Diablo and keep nuclear power online in California. Let's get it done.

Had a great time moderating a panel on workforce development and career technical education at the Aerospace Museum of California for California Aerospace Day.

The Central Coast is uniquely positioned to be the aerospace hub of California. With CTE programs at Cuesta and Allan Hancock, and aerospace engineering programs at Cal Poly, we have the workforce to make the most out of the launch facility at Vandenberg and the future Paso Robles Space Port.

Thank you to the organizers putting this event on, and thank you to my panelists for sharing their thoughts on how we can best position ourselves for more aerospace investment!

Excited to announce that we just secured millions of dollars in this year's state budget for the development of financial literacy curriculum!

It’s all too clear that kids are graduating high school without knowing much about debt, compound interest, basic investing or budgeting. After years of pushing for more financial literacy coursework in our K-12 schools, I am glad to see our hard work finally paying off. Financial literacy is key to getting our kids ready to enter adulthood – this investment will pay dividends.

Proud to announce that our bill to protect victims of domestic violence was signed into law.

Abusers will use any tool at their disposal to continue to harass and intimidate their victims. Abusers with resources can exploit the court system and file meritless lawsuits in order to force their victim to continue to appear.

This important new law will further protect victims and give them a way out of continually appearing before their abuser in court. Thank you to the victim advocacy organizations who supported this bill.

A state bill that places limits on the legal power domestic abusers have has been signed into law in California, State Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham announced Thursday.
