I happily guide others in practicing Zentangle after being trained as a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher) in 2012. I am an artist and librarian in the Lansing area, having relocated to Michigan in 2000. My academic background is in fiber, having earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in studio art. I studied weaving and textile design in New York, Indiana and Kansas. Love of color, pattern, tex
ture and a sense of humor infuses my artwork. I have displayed and marketed this fiber work in numerous regional shows and sales. I love repurposing nontraditional materials into new and unexpected fabrics and objects. My motivation to creatively recycle and repurpose is also expressed in my mixed media collages. As a librarian, I enjoy incorporating bits and pieces from books and magazines into my artwork. Zentangle is a meditative and soothing approach to drawing patterns on a variety of surfaces, starting simply with pen and paper. In 2012 I was awarded the Chris Clark Fellowship, Arts Council of Greater Lansing. I traveled to Providence, Rhode Island, in September, 2012, to train with the founders of Zentangle, Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas. I quickly realized that I wanted to combine my extensive teaching experience of arts and crafts with Zentangle. I love making art and sharing my visual expression with others. We're all creative and I embrace my creative imagination! Please subscribe to my newsletter, Art Thoughts, https://app.tinyletter.com/ #!/subscribe/design
