The NH House Progressive Caucus is excited to share we are endorsing Christian Urrutia for NH Congressional District 1! Christian is the kind of bold, progressive leader we think can not only win this race but also co-govern effectively with us on the state level. In 2018, progressives failed to consolidate around one candidate, which led to Chris Pappas winning the primary and securing his place in NH politics for years to come. Progressives cannot make the same mistake again. We hope you’ll join us in supporting Christian so progressives can have the strongest chance possible of winning this race!

Last week, when most of the Republicans in the NH House didn’t care about what their constituents had to say, it was up to Democrats and the Progressive State Representatives to develop a strategy to stand in solidarity with the people. Only one person showed up to testify in support of Right to Work. Despite this, Republicans still voted “ought to pass “out of committee.

House Progressives filibustered for 3.5 hours in order to kill Right to Work. Enough Republicans left session early for Democrats and the 20 Republicans against right to work to succeed in killing this union busting legislation.

Not having the majority doesn’t mean we can’t fight back. House Progressives are using procedural tactics to push back against the Free State agenda. THIS is what it means to stand up for your constituents!

HB 1091 passed unanimously today!!

Currently, there are many cities in NH that fine individuals up to $1000 for sleeping or camping on public property. This law will require a non-monetary option for paying the fine. It's not perfect, but in a Republican majority, passing a "harm-reduction" bill is a HUGE accomplishment.

Congrats to NH House Progressive member, Rep, Jodi Newell of Keene for submitting this bill and getting it through. She is a relentless champion for folks who are unhoused, and NH is lucky to have her in Concord!
