The Yard Goes Green for June

Green June is back with a month-long celebration of environmental awareness and ocean conservation, featuring family-friendly events and hands-on experiences.

Here are some of the highlights:

🥂 5th June: From 6pm-8pm, explore Dart & Grey’s new sustainable collection at Identity Fashion, created from manufacturing surplus materials.

🔬 7th June: Soapbox Science hits The Green from 11am-1pm. Meet the scientists and explore the world of science with this interactive pop up event, running alongside the Good Food & Craft Market.

🌊 7th June: Celebrating World Ocean Day, these family-friendly ‘paddle and pick’ sessions with SOUTH WEST SUP combine ridding the coastline of plastic pollution with learning essential SUP safety and techniques.

🏊 13th June: Join ACE Swimming from 10:00-10:30am for open water sessions focused on swimming technique, building endurance, and improving sea safety awareness at Firestone Bay (also running 20th and 27th).

🌊 14th June: Join The Rock Pool Project from 10:45am-1:15pm for their free monthly BioBlitz Battle; a fun, competitive rock pooling experience for all ages.

🚴 19th June: Get your bike summer-ready with free maintenance sessions from Dr Bike, running on The Green from 9am–4pm.

🎨 28th June: Enjoy Children’s Craft Activities from 11am-2pm, including painting bug huts which will appear around the yard.

This June at Seco Lounge

Throughout June, Seco will be hosting a series of events for LoungeAid - the annual fundraising campaign supporting charities close to each Lounge’s community.

This year, they're raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust with quizzes, bake sales, games, music and more!

Fancy a dip?

The sun is shining and the waters of Firestone Bay are looking oh-so tempting - perfect for an after-work sea swim or paddle board session.

Why not make a day of it? Grab a treat from one of our cafés or restaurants, catch a new film or enjoy a leisurely browse of our independent shops, or explore the pop-up market.

The temporary traffic lights on Durnford Street have now been removed, and access to the peninsula is back to normal.

🚌 The 34A shuttle service will remain in place until Saturday 30 May, with the regular 34 service resuming from Sunday 31 May onwards.

Say hello to the Arcade’s newest resident

Royal William Yard is welcoming its newest Arcade resident, as Natural Source Ltd is set to open in early June.

The grocery, deli and farm shop – the first business venture of 23-year-old Plymouth local Jessica Ferguson – will bring fresh, healthy and locally sourced produce from across Devon and Cornwall to the waterfront destination.

Working closely with local farmers and butchers, Jessica is championing responsibly sourced, ethically produced food, with daily deliveries of seasonal fruit and veg, fresh sourdough, dairy and more.

🗓️ Opening 6 days a week in early June (closed Mondays):
Tuesday–Friday: 9am–6pm
Saturday: 9am–4pm
Sunday: 9am–2pm

Joining Nala’s Pet Co., DockSide Coffee Bar and Pebble Cornwall, Natural Source becomes part of the growing independent community at the Yard.
