$3,000 was raised for the Salvation Army through the 2023 Jekyll Island kettle drive. Thank you to all the non-Lion volunteers who rang the bell. The Jekyll Lions began a tradition of inviting the non-Lion volunteers to the meeting involving the presentation of the check to the Salvation Army. Thanks to all who helped!

Jekyll Lions Pamela Bauer Mueller, Pam Graham and Howard Sculthorpe delivered boxes filled with gifts to the International Seafarer's Center in Brunswick, GA! The boxes will be delivered by ISC volunteers to crew from international cargo ships that deliver/pick-up cargo in the Port of Brunswick. This is a small Christmas gift for crew who are often thousands of miles away from home and family during the holiday season.

Thank you Jekyll Island residents and businesses! Your support and donations through fundraisers like our Cornhole Tournaments and Cheese Sales make it possible to support the blind and vision impaired. Today the Jekyll Island Lions Club was able to send a check to the Georgia Lions Lighthouse. The Lighthouse enables those in need in Georgia to have vision. The club's $1500 check was doubled by a matching donor during Giving Tuesday activities. The photo explains how the donations are used. Thank you for serving with the Lions!
Happy Thanksgiving...The Jekyll Lions and Rotarians dressed up the Beach Village and the Historic District with American flags to celebrate the holiday.

Jekyll Island Lions sorted hundreds of pairs of used eye glasses at its 11/7/2023 meeting. The glasses, obtained from local optometrists and donations from the public, will be delivered to the Georgia Lions Lighthouse. The glasses will be recycled/refurbished to help the sight impaired in southeast Georgia and beyond. 😎
The Jekyll Island Lions Club was part of a group effort by Jekyll Island Authority (Cliff Gawron and his crew), Jekyll Rotary, Garden Club of Jekyll Island, Keep Golden Isles Beautiful, and the Marriott. All turned out today to help spruce up our island by picking up trash around the island.
The Lions were part of a great turnout. Not only did we pick up a lot of rubbish, but we enjoyed both a perfect day provided by nature and camaraderie provided by our neighbors. We will do it again in the Spring!
Together, we can accomplish so much more than we can individually.
As a Lion...and as a pilot, this totally cracks me up!
The Jekyll Island Lions Club received a nice shout out of appreciation from the local Salvation Army chapter in a recent Brunswick News article. It is our pleasure to serve!

The Jekyll Island Lions Club donated $1,000 to the Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation as a part of “Giving Tuesday.” This donation is especially timely as Stanley Friedman, a long-time supporter of Georgia Lions Lighthouse, matched all donations given to the Lighthouse on this day.
This donation would not have been possible without Jekyll Island residents and businesses who support the Jekyll Lions fundraising efforts like cheese sales, telephone book sales and advertising, and the Lions Club Cornhole Tournament.
This Jekyll Island Lions Club donation, along with the match, will enable the Lighthouse to provide a full clinic day of tele-optometry exams in areas with no access to vision services or provide free vision screenings to 500+ students in two elementary schools. Other uses for these funds could include providing vision assistance for local residents who are in need of such services.
This cannot be done without your generous support. The Jekyll Island Lions club thanks you!
