๐๐ฎ๐๐, ๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ญ๐ก, ๐๐๐๐ โ Yesterday, the SPLM Secretary General, Cde. Prof. Paul Logale Jumi attended the thanksgiving celebration organized for Hon. Adut Salva Kiir, the Senior Presidential Envoy for Special Programs, by the Bahr El-Ghazal Women for Development.
The event brought together high-level government officials from the national and state governments, the SPLM Party, different communities, women groups, and religious leaders among other groups.
Representing the SPLM Party, Cde. Prof. Jumi congratulated Hon. Adut and acknowledged that Hon. Adut's appointment is based on her character and not her relationship with her father, H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan. โHon. Adut, your appointment has been highly welcomed by almost everyone nationwide not because of your relationship with the president but because of the character you showed to our leaders and people of South Sudan. Congratulation!โ โ said Cde. Prof Jumi.
Cde. Prof. Jumi also urged Hon. Adut to consider her appointment as a reward to the suffering of the women of South Sudan. He said, "We know that women suffered disproportionately in the last senseless conflicts, with sexual violence, displacement, and impacts on their health and their livelihoods. Your appointment, Cde. Adut, should be a new chapter of relief and healing to their wounds".
The SPLM Secretary General cheered Hon. Adut for embracing open doors policy and implored her to continue with the same spirit as he says, โI want to see you continue opening your office doors to every woman who would like your attention and supportโ.
He further pledged full support of the SPLM Party to the Senior Presidential Envoy for Special program while saying, โI wanted to assure you that the SPLM National Secretariat is behind you and will support you so that you can serve our nation with dignity".
The event was marked with joy, praises and renewed hope for both the women and people of South Sudan.
