| Caloloma Unified Custodians for Sustainability |

On June 26, 2025, The Barangay Caloloma community convened to establish the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Group for the drainage system. It was been facilitated by the Area Coordinating Team, and Caizy Arrivado, MCT-CEF.

The O&M group’s primary role is to ensure the regular cleaning, monitoring, and maintenance of the drainage infrastructure to mitigate flooding risks and promote public health and safety. This forms part of the sustainability strategy under the community-driven development approach.

On June 13, 2025, focused meeting was conducted and facilitated by Mrs. Mimilyn N. Enate, Area Coordinator; Engr. Theresa May N. Mañozo; Mrs. Julie Ann M. Dabocol, Municipal Financial Analyst; and Junjie Radin, MCT- CEF to officially organize the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Group for the Level II Water System in Brgy. Sto. Niño, Pagsanghan.

The group is mandated to oversee the efficient operation, routine maintenance, and sustainability of the facility to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of safe and clean water to all households. This initiative strengthens the community’s capacity for local resource management and promotes shared accountability in sustaining vital infrastructure.

On June 10, 2025, the Barangay Buenos Aires community successfully convened to establish the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Group for the Multi-Purpose Hall. It was been facilitated by the Area Coordinating Team, led by Mrs. Mimilyn N. Enate, Engr. Theresa May N. Mañozo, Technical Facilitator; Mrs. Julie Ann M. Dabocol, Municipal Financial Analyst; and ACT-MCT Community Empowerment Facilitators.

The O&M Group will be responsible for the systematic management, upkeep, and repair of the facility to ensure its continued use as a venue for governance, capacity building, and social activities. The formation of the O&M group reflects the community’s commitment to protecting and maximizing the use of shared assets.

Strengthening Communities, Building Dreams ✨

The turnover ceremony of KC NCDDP-AF Phase 3 (LGU-led) Improvement of the Multi-purpose Hall in Brgy. Buenos Aires (June 24, 2025) and Construction of Stage (Phase 2) in Brgy. Calanyugan (June 25, 2025) marks another step toward empowering our communities through meaningful and sustainable projects.

The ceremony was led by Engr. Filemon “Jhun” Borata, MPDC/MAC; Mrs. Joan Rosales, MLGOO; and Hon. Rosemarie Mara, ABC President, whose leadership continues to guide our collective efforts.

On behalf of DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS, the office extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Local Chief Executive, Mayor Sed Hendrix C. Tan, for his unwavering support of the program; to the Municipal Coordinating Team, other Department Heads for their consistent and tireless assistance in project implementation; to the Barangay Local Government Unit of Brgy. Buenos Aires & Brgy. Calanyugan,led by Hon. Roselyn M. Bordallo and Hon. Lorna T. Bordallo; the Community Volunteers; and to the MIAC/MSIT members, CSO, and other stakeholders for their all-out support.

Bringing hope in every drop💧: Turnover of KALAHI-CIDSS NCDDP-AF Phase 3 (LGU-led): Repair and Rehabilitation of Level II Water System (Phase 1)

June 17, 2025, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)- Field Office VIII, in partnership with the Municipal Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pagsanghan under the KALAHI-CIDSS National Community-Driven Development Program (NCDDP) Additional Financing (AF) Phase 3 (LGU-led), successfully conducted the turnover of the repaired and rehabilitated Level II Water System (Phase 1) in Barangay Sto. Niño, Pagsanghan, Samar.

This essential infrastructure sub-project increases water supply reliability and accessibility to 103 Households. The initiative provides a reliable source of safe and clean water which supports public health, community resilience and sustainable development.

KC NCDDP-AF Sub-Project Phase 3 (LGU-led): Final Inspection Conducted in Brgy. Calanyugan, Pagsanghan, Samar

The Area Coordinating Team (ACT), led by Ms. Mimilyn Enate (Area Coordinator), in collaboration with the Municipal Coordinating Team (MCT) headed by MPDC Engr. Filemon "Jhun" Borata(Municipal Are Coordinator) and members of the Municipal Inter-Agency Committee (MIAC), successfully conducted the final inspection for the Construction of Stage in Barangay Calanyugan under the Phase 3 LGU-led implementation of the KC NCDDP-AF in the Municipality of Pagsanghan, Samar.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Sed Hendrix C. Tan for his proactive leadership and unwavering support, which continue to drive the success of DSWD KALAHI-CIDSS in Pagsanghan. This successful implementation underscores the commitment of both DSWD and the LGU of Pagsanghan to technically sound and participatory infrastructure development. Key technical and administrative support was provided by MPDC Engr. Filemon "Jhun" Borata (Municipal Area Coordinator) and other municipal department heads. The BLGU of Calanyugan, led by Hon. Lorna T. Bordallo, played a vital role in local coordination and resource mobilization. This milestone reinforces the effectiveness of the LGU-led modality in sustaining Community-Driven Development (CDD) and delivering infrastructure that meets engineering, social, and development standards.

Special thanks to our Community Volunteers, ACT-MCT Kalahi Staff, MIAC members, Civil Society Organizations, and all stakeholders whose cooperation and hard work turned plans into progress.
