In the next Congress, I will work alongside my colleagues on behalf of a better America. One with an economy thatâs strong. A nation thatâs safe. A government thatâs accountable. And a future thatâs built on freedom for all Americans.
I recently had the opportunity to sit down with local business owners and learn about the impact inflation is having on their small businesses. Each of these individuals, all in different industries, have experienced significant difficulties due to 40-year highs in inflation.
As I return to Washington this week, I look forward to sharing their stories with my colleagues in Congress. It is vital that we work to rein in reckless spending and prioritize sensible economic policy on behalf of our small business owners and all Arkansans.
Rep. French Hill's Telephone Townhall
Leave a question below for Rep. Hill to answer!
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of recognizing the retirement of Major Sergeant Randall S. Jernigan on the House Floor. For years, Major Sergeant Jernigan served as head of the Catholic High School For Boys JROTC and physical fitness team - leading his Cadets to nine National Titles, as well as two teams from Mount St. Mary Academy.
As students returned to school this week, a notable presence was missing. Major Sergeant Jernigan - thank you for your service to our nation, for your leadership within the Catholic High, and for your impact in our community. Happy Retirement!
Today is Kirkley Thomas's last day of service with the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas. Kirkley has played a vital role in developing much-needed infrastructure for power and broadband across the state, benefitting our state and her people.
Happy Retirement, Kirkley, and thank you for your service!
Last night, I hosted a Special Order on the House Floor where I brought awareness to the real, devastating impact inflation has had on families in central Arkansas and across the nation.
I shared stories from Melissa, of Adona, and Ron, of Little Rock, who are struggling to make ends meet amid the current inflation.
I will continue to highlight your stories and I will continue to work for you to rein in spending, combat inflation, and get our economy under control.

Please dial in to ask Rep. Hill a question.
I was proud to recognize Col. Nate Todd on his recent appointment to the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees and look forward to the impact he'll make within the University of Arkansas system.
Last week, I had the honor of recognizing a dear friend of mine who made a significant impact across Arkansas.
R.D. Kinsey was a leader in the Arkansas veteran community who dedicated his life to assisting our veterans and their families. His passing is a tremendous loss for our community, but his impact and legacy will continue to be felt across our state.
141 days ago, Vladimir Putin commenced his illegal, brutal invasion of Ukraine. In these 141 days, there have been over 11,500 civilian casualties, 12.1 million Ukrainians in need of health assistance, and over 2,300 schools that have been damaged or destroyed.
No place in Ukraine is safe for civilians. Leadership from the United States is essential - now more than ever before.
246 years ago, our Founding Fathers ratified the Declaration of Independence, announcing our separation from the United Kingdom and proclaiming the thirteen original colonies as a new, independent nation - the United States of America.
Every day I am proud to be an American and honored to serve central Arkansans as their voice in Congress. To you and your family, Happy Fourth of July!
The Republican Study Committee recently released their budget for FY23, which included two of my policies - H.R. 7209, the Price Stability Act and H.R. 4823, the Social Security Disability Insurance Return to Work Act. These legislative policies will work to stabilize our economy, benefitting all Americans.
I am proud to support the RSC's budget which will balance the nation's budget over the next decade, make President Trump's Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent, and strengthen national security - keeping communities across the nation safe.
Families in Arkansas are spending an additional $450 per month to buy groceries and fill up their gas tanks. This is not sustainable and our hardworking families cannot afford this additional cost.
I spoke with David Westin on Bloomberg on how we can resolve this burden for families across the nation - getting national spending under control and expanding domestic supply, including domestic energy.
Most Expensive Thanksgiving in History
Tomorrow is projected to be the most expensive Thanksgiving in history, thanks in part to President Biden's failed economic policies and constant spending.
I recently spoke on the House floor in recognition of Kristy Brasfield and her achievement of being named the 2021 Arkansas History Teacher of the Year. Currently, Mrs. Brasfield teaches U.S. History and English IV at Joe T. Robinson High School in Pulaski County.
The Out of the Darkness walk took place this afternoon in Little Rock, raising awareness for prevention. This event is hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The walk symbolizes the fight against suicide and the journey of making it out of the darkness.
For anyone struggling, resources are available. One can be immediately connected to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by calling 1-800-273-8244, or by texting HELLO to 741741.
This week I recognized and congratulated Julia Gaffney, of Mayflower, for her accomplishments in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo earlier this year. Central Arkansas is proud of you and your outstanding achievement!
Here we are again, waiting for Speaker Pelosi to hold a vote that never seems to materialize. There isnât consensus within the party, and we donât even know the final cost of the bill. This is a waste of taxpayer money, all around.
Yesterday I spoke with my colleagues at the Republican Study Committee regarding President Biden's "Build Back Better" agenda, and the negative effects it will have on Americans. This agenda is filled with job-killing mandates which will only hinder economic growth further. It's time to prioritize the American people and their needs - not the left's spending spree.
Rep. French Hill Speaks on President Biden's Anti-American Energy Policies
Households could see their heating bills jump 54% because of the Biden Administrationâs ill-conceived, anti-American energy policies.
At every turn, the Biden Administration has hindered domestic energy production. They halted construction on the Keystone pipeline, costing jobs right here in Arkansas, and they halted new oil and gas leasing on federal lands, costing 6 million jobs in the near term.
I spoke on the House Floor and urged the Administration to abandon their war on American jobs and our energy independence.
Six Impossible Things
We have seen time and time again that the Democrats live in their own world â seems to me that the party is living in Wonderland.
Tonight's Tele-Townhall
Tonight was my telephone townhall. I had a great time speaking with my fellow central Arkansans, and am glad my friend and colleague, Congressman August Pfluger was able to join me for a bit to talk border security and the crisis at our southwest border. Thanks for all the great questions!
Rep. Hill on the 20th Anniversary of September 11th
On the 20th anniversary of September 11, 2001, I pray for the families who lost loved ones and friends. The brave firefighters, the police officers, EMTS, and first responders who selflessly charged into danger to save others will not be forgotten. Nor will we forget the heroes on Flight 93 who put service above self in an act of courage and defiance to save countless lives.
The legacy of September 11th is two-fold. We need to remember to love one another and have a service heart, and we must remain vigilant against the evil that roams the world.
Rep. French Hill Interviews Scott Simon of The Nature Conservancy in Arkansas at Rattlesnake Ridge
I recently joined Scott Simon, Director of The Nature Conservancy in Arkansas, at Rattlesnake Ridge to discuss conservation efforts in Arkansas and how to preserve the beauty of the Natural State.
I was proud to recognize finalists Elijah Keen, Spencer Knight, and Sergio Markin from eStem high school in the 5th annual Arkansas State Coding competition, and finalist Kimberly Raup from Conway High for the Arkansas Computer Science Educator of the Year award on the House Floor.
Rep. Hill on Democratsâ Partisan Budget
Speaker Pelosi knew she didnât have the votes to hold a standalone vote on Democratsâ $3.5 trillion budget resolution filled with far-left, progressive priorities, so she resorted to inside the beltway tactics and tied it to a procedural vote.
The Democratsâ budget resolution breaks President Bidenâs promise not to raise taxes, will only further fuel inflation, and increases the costs of goods and services hardworking Arkansans rely on.
Rep. Hill Attends Funeral Service for Donald Rumsfeld
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who Biddâst the mighty ocean deep
Itâs own appointed limits keep,
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea!
RIP old friend
Donald H. Rumsfeld
Rep. Hill Addresses SDRs and Vaccines on Bloomberg TV
I joined David Westin on Bloomberg TV earlier this week to discuss, once again, my ongoing concerns with the Biden Administration pushing the IMF to issue SDRs - which would give $450 million in hard currency to a Taliban-led Afghanistan.
We also addressed the rise of COVID-19 across Arkansas - I echoed my call to Arkansans to seriously consider consulting with your physician and getting vaccinated for the safety of yourself, your family, and your community.
Rep. French Hill Honors the Work of Catholic High Teacher Steve Wells.
I'm sure many students at Catholic High are missing teaching legend Mr. Steve Wells this year following his retirement.
I hope students at Catholic High and across central Arkansas have a safe and successful first day of school.
Rep. French Hill on National Purple Heart Day
Today on National #PurpleHeart day, we celebrate the service and sacrifice of all the men and women throughout the history of the United States that have served in combat and have been wounded in action.
I sat down with Staff Sergeant Jade Morin, a Purple Heart recipient, to thank her for her sacrifice and discuss the Purple Heart she was awarded.
