Today, the House overwhelmingly voted to pass the FAA Reauthorization bill, which takes great strides in improving air travel and will increase air traffic controller training, especially at the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in OKC. This will have an enormous impact on both Oklahoma and the country.
I spoke in support of this essential bill yesterday and am glad to see it head to President Biden’s desk to be signed into law.
I’m working to ensure China is deterred from forcefully taking Taiwan.
My PROTECT Taiwan Act takes the necessary steps to do exactly that.
I joined Mornings with Maria today to explain how. Watch below⬇️
Congress must take the necessary steps to ensure Beijing would be subject to significant financial and economic consequences should it threaten our allies in Taiwan.
The PROTECT Taiwan Act – which passed on the House floor today – will do exactly that. Read more on my bill here: https://lucas.house.gov/posts/lucas-bill-to-hold-china-accountable-passes
I also spoke in support of this critical piece of legislation on the House floor. Be sure to watch below⬇️
Experts agree👇
The SEC’s overwhelming rulemaking agenda is unnecessary and creates massive uncertainty in our capital markets.

Listing the Lesser Prairie Chicken as an endangered species creates unnecessary burdens on Oklahomans.
As responsible stewards of our land, this sort of government overreach prevents us from providing for ourselves and the world.
That’s why I voted in favor of S.J. Res 9⬇️
The Financial Services Committee and House Ag are considering legislation to clarify the jurisdictions of the SEC and CFTC over digital assets.
From my perspective on both committees, it's clear we can't continue in the Wild West environment we're in right now.
I discussed with Bloomberg Crypto below👇
Earlier today Financial Services Committee Republicans held a hearing on the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank.
I pressed FDIC Chairman Gruenberg to ensure that the special assessment does not unduly burden our community banks.

Today I questioned U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Vilsack about USDA's administration of the Emergency Relief Program and how the Agency’s adjusted coverage is negatively impacting America's farmers and ranchers.
USDA changed the eligibly mechanism by which farmers and ranchers qualify for disaster payments from a model based on crop losses to a model based on revenue losses calculated by tax year.
The Biden Administration's USDA is leaving ag producers to weather the storm alone.

📺WATCH: Earlier this week, House Ag GOP held a hearing with ag industry stakeholders on the impact high inflation and burdensome Biden Administration regulations are having on America's farmers and ranchers- including the SEC's climate disclosure rule.
One thing is certain: American agriculture responds to movements in the markets- all without the hand of a government mandate.
The SEC’s efforts to use financial regulation to implement a climate agenda would hinder the ability of American farmers and ranchers to compete in global markets. That's why I introduced the Protect Farmers from the SEC Act, which would protect family farmers and ranchers from burdensome regulations.
ICYMI: Earlier today I joined Bloomberg Crypto to discuss the bipartisan Financial Services Committee Republicans hearing related to the collapse of digital asset trading platform FTX.
It's the Wild West right now in crypto. But Congress can bring order to the crypto industry while protecting investors, consumers, and innovation.
Watch my interview below 📺:
Today, the U.S. House debated and voted on H.R. 7606, the so-called Lower Food & Fuel Costs Act. Oklahomans know all too well the negative impact misguided federal agriculture and monetary policy can have on America's communities.
If House Democrats were truly interested in providing relief for American farmers and ranchers, they would join my Republican colleagues and I in calling for the Biden Administration to reinstate the Trump-era Waters of the United States rule and rescind the Biden Administration’s WOTUS rule.
If Democrats were interested in reducing the cost of on farm inputs like fertilizer and fuel, they would work with us to restore and expand domestic energy production.
America's farmers and ranchers deserve real policy solutions and real assistance- not burdensome spending and regulatory barriers.

Today, the House is voting on House Democrats' H.R. 2543, the Financial Services Racial Equity, Inclusion, and Economic Justice Act. At a time when Americans are grappling with skyrocketing inflation, spiking energy and food prices, and lasting supply chain crises, H.R. 2543 would do nothing to support hard-working Americans.
Now is not the time to take the Federal Reserve's eyes off the ball.
Congress and the Federal Reserve should instead be focused on strengthening the financial well-being of American families.
