Focus on Farnworth — the local name for the Pride in Place programme — is expanding its Board, and we are looking for passionate local people to get involved.
This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the long term future of Farnworth as part of a UK wide initiative investing into communities that need it most.
They're seeking individuals who care deeply about the area, bring fresh ideas, and want to play a key role in guiding the strategic direction of Focus on Farnworth.
They're particularly keen to hear from people who live or work in Farnworth, or who have a strong personal connection to the community.
Board experience isn’t essential — we welcome people with backgrounds in community work, finance, governance, communications, local business, or anyone with valuable local insight and a commitment to making a difference.
Please do share this opportunity with friends, family, colleagues, or local business contacts who may be suitable and interested in joining the Board.

The Focus on Farnworth board is designed to put local people at the centre of defining Farnworth’s future, bringing together residents, local businesses, grassroots campaigners, workplace representatives, faith leaders, and community organisations. Involving the community, the board has generated a vision for the future and set out a pathway to deliver that over the course of the 10-year programme through 9 projects.

A £19.5 million, ten-year regeneration plan for Farnworth has been submitted to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, with funding due to come on stream from April 2026.

The plan has been developed over the last year based upon public consultation. Over the coming months and years there will be further opportunities for Farnworth residents to have their say and to shape the work of the Focus on Farnworth Board.
