The Morris/Sussex Vicinage launched its first nine-week legal intern program earlier this summer, welcoming 21 law students for rotations through the civil, general equity, criminal, and family divisions. Interns took part in court tours, weekly assignments, and educational sessions with judges and staff. The program offered hands-on experience through court observations, a mock trial, and a moot court competition.

Dave, New Jersey’s only sworn police wellness dog, and Officer Daniela Garcia of the Paterson Police Department visited the Essex Vicinage’s Wynona Lipman Family Courthouse on Tuesday to spend time with family division judges and staff. Dave, who was raised and trained through the Puppies Behind Bars program, often goes into the community to provide support and wellness in addition to providing support to first responders after traumatic events.
