From painting like Picasso to setting fence posts,

Then gathering round the fire with marshmallows to roast,

Maybe a game of pool,
Or a splash in the pool,
It really just depends where the adventure may rule!

We'll wander through wilderness,
Wonder at cows,
Ask hundreds of questions,
Like "Why?" and "What now?"

We'll build things and fix things,
Create things and cook,
Find treasures in places
Most people don't look.

There'll be laughter and learning,
New friendships and skills,
Campfires, challenges,
Adventures and thrills.

Some days may be muddy,
Some days may be sunny,
But every Wild Minds session
Is packed full of funny!

There'll be OOOHS
And AHHHHS

And more than a few...

WOWWWWWS!

A muddy knee,
Mud on your hat,
And "How did THAT happen?"

We'll leave it at that!

This long and once so dreaded walk has become one of the most highly requested trails to date. Deedee loved the adventure but was a bit disappointed with the bridge. She was under the impression she’d be able to trot or canter over but safety first Deedee, safety first. 😕

Materials Needed:

1 clean pizza box (or similar)
Aluminum foil
Black paper
Clear plastic wrap (clingfilm)
1 wooden skewer or stick
Scissors or utility knife
Glue & tape

S'mores ingredients
(graham crackers, chocolate, marshmallows)
Or
(Digestive biscuits, plain or chocolate)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Cut the Flap
Draw a square on the pizza box lid.
Leave a 2-centimetre border from the edges.
Cut along three sides of the square.
Leave the back side uncut.
Fold the flap upward along the uncut line.

2. Line the Flap and Box
Cover the inside of the flap with foil.
Smooth out all wrinkles.
Secure the foil tightly with tape.
Glue black paper to the inner bottom box.
The black paper absorbs the heat.

3. Seal the Window
Open the main lid of the box.
Stretch plastic wrap across the opening inside.
Tape the wrap tightly to seal it.
Ensure there are no air gaps.
This creates a greenhouse effect.

4. Load the S'mores
Place your chosen biscuit or cracker on the black paper.
Top each one with chocolate and a marshmallow.
Do not add the top cracker yet.
Close the main pizza box lid.

5. Cook in the Sun
Place the oven in direct midday sunlight.
Angle the foil flap to reflect light inside.
Prop the flap open using your wooden skewer.
Wait 10 to 20 minutes for melting.
Open the box and add top crackers.
