*NOTICE OF WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION – NQANQARHU*

20 June 2026

The Joe Gqabi District Municipality wishes to inform residents of Nqanqarhu (Maclear) that the water levels at both the Aucamp Reservoir and Wade Avenue Reservoir have not fully recovered following the recent incident affecting the water supply system.

The temporary relief pump currently in operation is delivering a lower volume of water than the normal filter-feeding pump. As a result, reservoir levels remain critically low.

To allow the reservoirs sufficient time to recover and maintain water availability across the system, water supply will be temporarily interrupted and will only be available during the following times each day until the filter-feeding pump is reinstated:

05:00 – 10:00
17:00 – 22:00

Affected Areas:

📍 Town (CBD)
📍 Hospital
📍 T.V. Park
📍 Peter Mokaba
📍 New Rest
📍 Part of Sonwabile
📍 Clearview
📍 Estishini
📍 Mission
📍 Old Location

Residents are urged to use water sparingly and only for essential purposes during this period.

Every effort is being made to restore normal water supply as soon as possible.

The municipality sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused and appreciates the community's patience and cooperation
