As SADA, we take this opportune time to send a message of appreciation to the students of Sekhukhune TVET College, CN Phatudi campus for showing confidence in the movement. You really showed your resilience throughout the campaign and fought your battle until to the last minutes of a bias system weakened corruption, mismanagement and the abuse of state authority.
You stood your ground even when you were paper prayed by hooligans that are not even students of the college. Voting times were abruptly extended without the knowledge of other students structures except SASCO, for whom special arrangements were made to use the delivery gate instead of the main gate where all structures were stationed.
Secondly, a word of thanks and appreciation is send to the leadership and activists of WOKE movement. As SADA, we are humbled by your commitment and mutual relationship on our journey to the not so distant but better future. You were there from the word go and stood the ground until the wee hours of the night. For a process that was stopped at 17h00 and started counting at 19h00, it boogles the mind to understand why it took the college this long to announce the results.
For the first time in the history of the college, results were announced after 9 hours while holding party agents at ransom without their phones and contact with the outside world.
For SADA, this is a step in the right direction towards achieving the objectives of both movements which, at their most basic level, is to provide a free, quality and compulsory decolonised, decommodified and affordable system of education.
In summary, these results shows that SADA is growing and finding support amongst young people who cannot be brought with money. These are young people who are sending a message to the captured leadership of our government and saying they are the architects of our own destiny. These young people are saying social grants should never be a permanent model to transform the lives of the dispossessed African masses.
