Wow, what an awesome day!!
Yesterday we had two Project Flamingo theatre lists in G and H theatre 💪
Seven volunteer anesthetists, eight surgeons, thirteen nurses with a porter and a cleaner, and medical students - helping thirteen breast cancer patients with 17 operations on one day!
Thank you so so much to everyone that made this day happen 💟

And a special thanks to Blanket of Hope who made these beautiful blankets - the patients absolutely love them 💟💟

We are urgently appealing to the public to donate blood this week as blood stocks across the province are under increasing pressure.

Following Monday’s Level 8 weather warning, the service was unable to collect the number of units required to meet hospital demand across the province. WCBS needs to collect 700 units of blood every day to maintain a stable blood supply.

Blood groups O-negative and O-positive are currently under the greatest strain with O-positive at only a three-day supply and O-negative at just a two-day supply.

Please donate blood at any of these blood donation clinics on Tuesday, 12 May 2026:

Table Bay Mall - 10:00-15:00
St Stephen’s Church, Pinelands - 10:30-19:00
Ned Herv Church Hall, Oak Glen - 11:00-16:00
