🌟 Congratulations to Keith Matthews, our December DHL Lifesaving Hero Among Us! 🌟
Keith's lifesaving journey began in 1970 at Alpha Surf Lifesaving Club. His passion for water safety then led him to Strandfontein Surf Lifesaving Club, where he played a pivotal role in growing the club from just 3 qualified members to a thriving community. After serving as Chairman for several seasons, Keith was invited to join Pathfinders Lifesaving Club at Mnandi, where he took on the chairmanship and led the initiative to rename it to Mnandi Surf Lifesaving Club - Mnandi lifeguard service. Under his leadership, the club has flourished to over 100 members strong, including pool lifeguards.
As a Watersmart Co-ordinator since 2018, Keith's impact has been truly remarkable - reaching over 44,000 learners across 265 schools in just 6 years! His dedication to sharing lifesaving knowledge and skills has helped build a safer community for generations to come. Keith's extensive experience in both pool and surf disciplines, combined with his passion for education, makes him a true pillar of strength in the lifesaving community.
