Every cyclist can benefit from the coaching services Velo World offers! These coaching services include individual assessments, personalised training programs, and training camps. Founder Marcel van der Poll is a UCI Level 2 accredited mountain bike coach and veteran of many cycling events, including a Cape Epic top 100 finish. Our clear objective is to make coaching accessible and affordable to more cyclists. A well-structured training plan, based on a proper assessment, and adjusted according to the athlete’s feedback, not only costs far less than you think, but it will actually save you time and money too!

Let us help your child develop into the best cyclist they can become, and at the same time development a love and passion for the sport. Too many riders drop out or dissappear because their coaching focus was only on race results.

What is Long Term Athlete Development, and what is the value of it?
It is about understanding the Development phases of the athlete, and implementing the correct coaching interventions at the right time, over a long period. It takes insight, commitment and a trust between athlete and coach.
Veloworld athlete Nicolai Hansen started at age 9 and today consistently competing for a top position in his Youth Men category. That is the result of proper application of the LTAD model.

End of an Era: Celebrating 8 Incredible Years with Alec! 🏆Today, we look back with immense pride, gratitude, and a bit of a heavy heart as we say farewell to Alec, who is moving on to a new journey. For the past 8 years, Alec has been a cornerstone of our Veloworld coaching family. Together, we have shared an unforgettable journey defined by Alec’s total commitment, relentless work, and amazing achievements. Alec evolved from a promising rider into an absolute powerhouse, securing Multiple National Championships 🥇Provincial Championship 🥈Countless podium finishes and personal milestones. Beyond the trophies and the jerseys, the true victory of the last 8 years has been the bond between athlete and coach. They weathered many successful and disappointing moments, many highs and many lows, but always as a unified team. As a Veloworld Ambassador Alec didn’t just ride for our jersey, he was the embodiment of our Veloworld Values. MOUNTAIN BIKING

What a Big Weekend for our Genie MTB Riders!

Our Gene Louw MTB riders were out in full force this weekend, taking part in three different cycling events — and making us incredibly proud!

Friday, 6 March kicked things off with the first Northern Suburbs Interschools race, where our riders competed against schools from across the region.

Saturday, 7 March saw many of them back on their bikes again for The Bicycle League #2, showing real determination and commitment.

And to top it all off, two of our riders took on the legendary Cape Town Cycle Tour (42 km). What an incredible achievement!

Well done to every single rider who represented Gene Louw this weekend. Your effort, determination and Genie Spirit make us proud to be part of this team!
