AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS CENTRAL KAROO (COLLINS-CHABANE) REGION WELCOMES THE TIMELY INTERVENTION AND WINTER DRIVE BACK-TO-SCHOOL CAMPAIGN VISIT BY THE MINISTER OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR CDE NOMAKHOSAZANA M**H
The African National Congress (ANC) in the Central Karoo Region warmly welcomes and applauds the proactive, compassionate intervention by the Minister of Employment and Labour and ANC (MP) Comrade Nomakhosazana M**h following her high impact oversight deployment to our region on Monday, 11 May 2026.
Our region currently battles severe, adverse winter weather conditions that led to widespread disruptions, infrastructure strain, and the temporary closure of local schools. Amidst these weather challenges , the Minister’s visit brought much-needed relief, restoring hope and dignity to our communities.
As an ANC-led government our revolutionary commitment to community development remains unwavering. We highly commend the Minister for executing her oversight and support program at both Mandlenkosi Secondary School and Beaufort West Primary School.
The ANC Central Karoo Region celebrates the successful fulfilment of the campaign’s core objectives:
The Ministry directly engaged school management to understand and record the immediate structural and operational challenges worsened by the current adverse weather.
The Minister interacted transparently with educators, learners, and community components to assess the socioeconomic issues weighing down our educational spaces.
The deployment successfully mapped out strategic areas where intergovernmental departments and social partners must channel long-term support.
We express deep gratitude for the direct delivery of winter support packages and educational goodies to identified needy learners, insulating them against the bitter winter cold and providing them with an incentive to thrive academically.
Schools within the Central Karoo continue to stand as the definitive battlegrounds against generational poverty, unemployment, and systemic hardship. True to the principles of social solidarity, Minister M**h's intervention proves that through coordinated partnerships between the government, schools, and local communities, we can build an inclusive, supportive future for every child.
The ANC Central Karoo Region extends its profound appreciation to the school principals, governing bodies, educators, and regional stakeholders who cooperated seamlessly to ensure the resounding success of this critical ministerial visit.
We remain committed to defending the right to quality education and ensuring no learner is left behind due to socioeconomic conditions.
