The African National Congress (ANC) in the Central Karoo (Collins-Chabane) Region successfully concluded its intensive online voter registration campaign this past weekend. This initiative formed part of the broader National Executive Committee (NEC) Outreach Programme, reflecting the party’s ongoing work to build a highly responsive local government and directly connect with residents.

Throughout the weekend ANC volunteers and leadership deployed across communities to assist citizens with the online voter registration platform. The primary objective was to ensure all eligible voters are correctly registered on the voters' roll and motivated to vote ANC in the upcoming 2026 Local Government Elections.

The weekend’s successful activities concluded with a significant church visit at the African M**hodist Episcopal (AME) Church in KwaMandlenkosi, Beaufort West.

The ANC delegation joined the congregation in fellowship, received spiritual blessings, and engaged with church leadership on community development.

The ANC remains committed to working alongside faith-based organisations to address the socio-economic challenges facing the Central Karoo and to ensure public services are delivered efficiently to all residents.

AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS CENTRAL KAROO (COLLINS-CHABANE) REGION WELCOMES THE TIMELY INTERVENTION AND WINTER DRIVE BACK-TO-SCHOOL CAMPAIGN VISIT BY THE MINISTER OF EMPLOYMENT AND LABOUR CDE NOMAKHOSAZANA M**H

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Central Karoo Region warmly welcomes and applauds the proactive, compassionate intervention by the Minister of Employment and Labour and ANC (MP) Comrade Nomakhosazana M**h following her high impact oversight deployment to our region on Monday, 11 May 2026.

Our region currently battles severe, adverse winter weather conditions that led to widespread disruptions, infrastructure strain, and the temporary closure of local schools. Amidst these weather challenges , the Minister’s visit brought much-needed relief, restoring hope and dignity to our communities.

As an ANC-led government our revolutionary commitment to community development remains unwavering. We highly commend the Minister for executing her oversight and support program at both Mandlenkosi Secondary School and Beaufort West Primary School.

The ANC Central Karoo Region celebrates the successful fulfilment of the campaign’s core objectives:

The Ministry directly engaged school management to understand and record the immediate structural and operational challenges worsened by the current adverse weather.

The Minister interacted transparently with educators, learners, and community components to assess the socioeconomic issues weighing down our educational spaces.

The deployment successfully mapped out strategic areas where intergovernmental departments and social partners must channel long-term support.
We express deep gratitude for the direct delivery of winter support packages and educational goodies to identified needy learners, insulating them against the bitter winter cold and providing them with an incentive to thrive academically.

Schools within the Central Karoo continue to stand as the definitive battlegrounds against generational poverty, unemployment, and systemic hardship. True to the principles of social solidarity, Minister M**h's intervention proves that through coordinated partnerships between the government, schools, and local communities, we can build an inclusive, supportive future for every child.

The ANC Central Karoo Region extends its profound appreciation to the school principals, governing bodies, educators, and regional stakeholders who cooperated seamlessly to ensure the resounding success of this critical ministerial visit.

We remain committed to defending the right to quality education and ensuring no learner is left behind due to socioeconomic conditions.

ANC Member of Parliament Cde Windy Plaatjies today led the Beaufort West Parliamentary Constituency Office on a high impact service delivery campaign in Murraysburg focusing on online voter registration. The initiative aimed to ensure that residents are registered and ready to exercise their democratic rights.

Following the voter registration drive, Cde Plaatjies together with various stakeholders including structures of the movement moved to the Murraysburg Town Hall to engage with the local community in celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the South African Constitution. During this engagement, the MP reflected on the progress made in upholding human rights and the rule of law over the past three decades.

In a practical demonstration of these constitutional values, Cde Plaatjies handed over a donation of school shoes to Mr Mpumelelo Hanabe, the Principal of Murraysburg Primary School. This donation is a result of a dedicated partnership with The Ncwana Foundation.

"We remain committed to consistently supporting learners in rural schools across this region," said Cde Plaatjies. "Through our partnership with The Ncwana Foundation, we are working to ensure that no child is hindered in their education by a lack of basic essentials."

The Beaufort West PCO continues to prioritise rural development and the empowerment of the youth through these ongoing community-based interventions.

ANC CENTRAL KAROO (COLLINS-CHABANE) REGION CONGRATULATES NEWLY ELECTED ANCYL WESTERN CAPE PROVINCIAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBERS

The ANC Central Karoo Region extends its heartfelt congratulations to all members from our region who were successfully elected to the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) during the ANCYL Western Cape Provincial Congress held yesterday.

This milestone follows the successful Central Karoo Regional Congress in late March 2026, which laid the foundation for our region’s powerful representation at the provincial level.

In a historic first for our region, we are exceptionally proud to announce that cde Vernon Klink has been elected as the 1st Deputy Provincial Secretary of the ANCYL in the Western Cape. Cde Klink becomes the first leader from the Central Karoo to be elected to an official Top 5/6 position in the provincial youth league structure , a significant victory for youth leadership in our rural communities.

We also celebrate the election of all additional Central Karoo members to the PEC. Your inclusion in this provincial collective is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and the trust placed in you by delegates from across the province.

As you take up these critical responsibilities, we are confident that you will:

Champion the interests of young people across the Western Cape.

Advocate for radical economic transformation and youth employment.

Strengthen the ANC as we march toward the 2026 Local Government Elections.

Your election brings renewed energy to the movement, ensuring that the voice of the Central Karoo remains loud and clear in the rebuilding of the ANC Youth League in the Western Cape.
