What a day on the mountain ⛰️❤️

The 17th edition of the Cableway Charity Challenge once again brought together an incredible community of hikers, runners, supporters and volunteers climbing for a greater purpose.

Thank you to every participant, donor and supporter who helped make this year’s event so special. Your energy, generosity and determination continue to make a meaningful difference to organisations who do important work across our communities and natural spaces.

This year’s finishers once again received commemorative medals crafted from retired Table Mountain Cableway track rope, a small piece of the Cableway’s history and a lasting symbol of the spirit behind the Challenge.

Congratulations to all the athletes who took part and gave it their all on the day 👏

Donations and pledges remain open until Sunday, 17 May. If you would still like to contribute, visit https://charitychallenge.co.za/

Caring for our mountain takes a community⛰️

The helps support organisations working tirelessly behind the scenes to preserve and protect the spaces so many of us enjoy every day. From trail maintenance to conservation efforts, every contribution plays a role in keeping Table Mountain accessible, safe and sustainable for future generations.

One of the most powerful ways to make a difference is by getting involved. The Table Mountain Regional Honorary Rangers continue to welcome passionate people from all walks of life who want to give back to the mountain they love. 🙌

Thank you to every participant, volunteer and supporter helping turn purpose into action today.

Behind every rescue is a team of dedicated volunteers committed to keeping our mountains safe.

The plays an important role in supporting organisations like Wilderness Search and Rescue, helping fund critical equipment, training and resources needed to continue providing life-saving rescue services across the Western Cape.

Today’s athletes aren’t just climbing for a challenge, they’re helping support the people who answer the call when it matters most.

A huge thank you to every participant, donor and supporter making an impact through every step climbed today.

Protecting our mountains takes passion, dedication and community support 💙🔥

We spoke to Bronwyn Bagley from South Peninsula Volunteer Wildfire Services at today’s about the vital work their volunteer firefighters do to protect the Western Cape’s natural landscapes and communities.

As a fully self-funded organisation, every donation helps provide essential firefighting equipment, training and operational support ensuring these brave volunteers can continue showing up when it matters most.

Thank you to the incredible teams and beneficiaries taking part in today’s challenge and making a real impact. 🙌

At the heart of the is the power of community, connection and opportunity.

Today’s challenge is about more than reaching the summit. It’s about creating opportunities for young people to grow, thrive and reach their full potential through the support of organisations who make a real impact in our communities.

Every lap climbed represents resilience, hope and the spirit of Ubuntu in action. 🏃‍♂️‍➡️

To every participant, donor and supporter: thank you for helping make a difference, one step at a time.

Every step climbed today is helping create meaningful change in our communities ⛰️

We caught up with Deputy Mayor Eddy Andrews at the as he shared more about the inspiring work being done through Soles for Souls, a campaign aiming to raise 42 200 pairs of school shoes for children in need ahead of the Cape Town Marathon. 👟

Because sometimes, something as simple as a pair of shoes can help keep a child in school and on the path to a brighter future.

Thank you to all the beneficiaries, participants and supporters making a difference today. 🙌
