Northlands Girls' High School was established in 1949 and is situated in the heart of Durban North, Durban, on the east coast of South Africa. We are proud of our traditions our `Old Girls' and our history. Our first priority is ensuring our 700 girls, aged 12-18, receive a first-class, relevant, values-based, education. Our girls are privileged to be taught in an environment of care, respect and

creativity, and our small classes allow each girls uniqueness to be celebrated. We have a nurturing environment in which to work, play and create happy lasting memories. A passionate and dedicated team of teachers remain true to our mission of equipping young women for successful and fulfilled lives. The impressive curriculum available at Northlands Girls' High School is broad, offering our girls a wide range of subject options ensuring them the opportunity to gain entrance into a tertiary institution of their choice. The countdown is on to one of the most cherished events on the Northlands Girls' High School calendar – the 2026 Founders’ Day celebrations as we proudly mark 77 years of tradition, excellence, and community spirit.
We warmly invite our NGHS community to join us for the Founders’ Day Assembly on Friday, 14 August 2026, at 12h00, followed by tea in the Tuckshop, where old friendships can be rekindled and special memories shared.
The celebrations continue on Saturday, 15 August, with the highly anticipated NGHS Knights Cup Day. This action-packed showcase of talent and school pride will feature exciting competitions in Hip Hop, Basketball, Soccer, Debating, and Chess.
We look forward to welcoming you back to NGHS for a truly unforgettable Founders’ Day weekend.

Don't feel like cooking? Head down to Riverside Spur on 02 July, 16 July and 30 July 2026, from 17h00 - 20h00 to support the Northlands Girls' High School Basketball fundraising initiative. The girls will shadow the Spur Staff, learning waitressing skills and interacting with people. A percentage of all sales from the night goes towards this fundraising initiative. Your support is valuable, and NGHS hopes to see you there.
