The Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) in joins the world in the commemoration of International Fire Fighters Day today. The day is observed on May 4 to honour firefighters for their service internationally. In celebrating this day, DEMS handed over prizes to fire fighters whose names were drawn up from a lucky dip competition.
DEMS Acting Divisional Head of Emergency Services, Lifty Koena Ngoepe, and President of the Southern African Emergency Services Institute (SAESI) Theresa Geldenhuys drew out the names of the lucky winners .
