The Diocesan Choir Association of the Diocese of George warmly invites all parishioners, choirs, clergy, and friends of the Diocese to join us for our Bi-Annual Diocesan Choir Festival hosted by St. Mary’s Parish, Blanco on Sunday, 31 May 2026.

The day will begin with a Festival Eucharist at 09:00, celebrated and preached by The Right Revd. Edwin Pockpass, Bishop of George, and assisted by The Venerable Darian Petersen, Diocesan Choir Chaplain.

The celebrations will continue with the Choir Festival at 14:00 at the Blanco Community Hall, where choirs from across the Diocese will unite in worship, fellowship, and song, giving glory to God through the gift of sacred music.

Come and be part of this joyful diocesan gathering as we celebrate our shared faith and witness together.

Today, the Diocesan Lay Ministers, together with their chaplain, Revd Canon Sharon Domingo-Blaauw, met at St Peter and St Paul Aberdeen, for their Module 5 training.
The focus of the training was on vestments, vessels, elements, ornaments, and symbolism within the Church.

The day began with Morning Prayer, led by Shaun Plato, followed by tea and fellowship. The training session was facilitated by Revd Dr Mark Marais, who guided the Lay Ministers through the significance and use of these important liturgical items and symbols.

The Church of the Resurrection, Sedgefield, extends its sincerest congratulations to Vera Harris on the establishment of a thriving vegetable garden 🌿🥕. The garden, which was joyfully inspected today, has made significant progress and will provide fresh produce for families in need, as well as nourishing homemade soup during the winter season. Vera's initiative, dedication, and compassion towards the community are truly appreciated, and her efforts are making a tangible difference. With gratitude and blessings, The Church of the Resurrection, Sedgefield.
