{..Bella 'S ROOM..}
Bella phone 6:42am*
Tricia: bitch you better not flake
Tricia: I swear if you don’t show up today I’m leaking your 8th grade yearbook photo
Bella :I’m in the car. Chill.
Tricia: AS YOU SHOULD. I already told my whole sorority my hot transfer friend is coming
Bella I’m not hot I’m stressed
Tricia: same thing at Ashford
Amelia smiled at her phone. Tricia Adams. Her best friend since they were 12 and both got detention for dying their hair blue with Kool-Aid.
“Who are you texting?” her Dad asked. Eyes on the road. Hands at 10 and 2 like he was driving a driving test.
“Tricia daddy,” she said. “She said she’s a junior here too. Same uni.”
Her Dad nodded. He was proud. Ashford University wasn’t for kids like us. Not without the full scholarship. Not without him pulling double shifts at the garage for 3 years.
“You nervous?” he asked.
“No.”she Lied. “Yeah.” she said the Truth.
He pulled into the drop-off lane. Ashford looked like a movie set. Brick buildings, green lawns, students who looked like they never worried about tuition.
“You call me if anything happens,” he said. “Anything.”
“I will.” she grabbed her bag. It was old. The zipper stuck. “Love you.”
“Love you more, Bella.Go show ‘em what you are made of.”
She got out. Closed the door.
And felt 200 people looked her. I mean they aren't used to poor girls in school, but Bella gave no fúck about their eyes.

*Blair’s Dorm, 7:15am*
Blair Hastings held up two dresses. “Be honest. Which one says ‘I own him’?”
Ivy didn’t look up from her laptop. “The black one. It’s what you wore when Reign first kissed you.”
“He didn’t kiss me,” Blair snapped. “We have an understanding.”
Kess snorted, tying her Nikes. “An understanding that he ignores you at every party?”
“Shut up,” Blair said. She picked the black dress. “Post on AshfordTea that I’m ‘excited for senior year with my man’. Tag him.”
Ivy typed."also there's a new girl at school ,she is trending.
Blair frowned. “Why?”
Kess held up her phone. A blurry pic. A girl in an old jean jacket, standing in front of the Ashford sign, flipping off the camera.
“Because she looks like that,” Kess said. “And Ashford bous like new toys.”
Blair’s eyes narrowed. “ Girls, I think we have a new toy at school . We'll have fun tormenting her.

*Ashford University, 8:30am*
Bella was lost in 10 minutes.
The campus map made no sense. Every building looked the same. Every student looked like they belonged except me.
“Excuse me,” she asked a guy with a Delta Kai hoodie. “Where’s West Hall?”
He looked her up and down. Not mean. Just curious. “You new?” he asked
“Transfer. Junior.”she replied
He blinked. “You don’t look like a junior.”
“Thanks?”
“I mean—” He rubbed his neck. “West is that way. But fair warning. That’s DK territory. Madden.”
“Who’s Madden?”
The guy just laughed. “You’ll know.”
She found West Hall. Found my locker. Found out it was next to the janitor’s closet.
Perfect.
By 11am she needed coffee or she was going to fall asleep standing up. The cafeteria was packed. Loud. Smelled like fries and money.
She got in line. Ordered the cheapest thing. Black coffee, $2.
Turned around.
And ran straight into a wall.
A wall wearing a white button-down and a scowl.
The coffee went up. Then down. All over his shirt. His shoes. White sneakers, now brown.
The whole cafeteria went quiet.
He looked down. Slowly. Like he couldn’t believe it.
Then he looked at her
Gray eyes. Cold. Mad didn’t cover it.
“Do you know who I am?” he said. Quiet. The quiet kind that made everyone else shut up.
She should’ve apologized. Her Dad raised her better.
But she was tired. And my shoes were from Walmart. And his cost more than my rent.
So she looked at the coffee dripping off his $4k sneakers and said, “ Geez relax bruh, it's not like they were attractive anyways
Someone gasped.
His jaw did this tick thing.
“How dare you,” he said. Still quiet. Worse than yelling.
I shrugged. Lifted my empty cup. “They were ugly anyways. I did you a favor.”
For a second, nobody breathed.
Then he smiled. It wasn’t nice.
“Name,” he said.
“Why? You gonna send me a dry cleaning bill?”
“Name,” he repeated. “Now.”
She should’ve lied. But Tricia’s voice was in my head: Never let them see you scared.
“Bella ,” she said. “Bella Vale.”
He nodded once. Like he was filing it away.
“Bella Vale,” he said. “Welcome to Ashford, I'll make your life miserable kitten."the Last words he whispered like a demon.
He walked away. Coffee dripping behind him. His friends followed.
And just like that, She was ‘coffee girl’.
Everyone stared at her and some even glared at her in jealousy . She never noticed three eyes glaring at her. It was the mean girls, and if looks can kill, she'll be six feet under
"Shít, I'm screwed!! She muttered.
