MAKHADO MUNICIPALITY WOMEN CLOSE WOMEN’S MONTH IN STYLE

Makhado Municipality’s women employees closed Women’s Month in style during a highly successful celebration held at the Makhado Showgrounds today.

The event was addressed by the Portfolio Head for Corporate Services, Cllr Jeanette Matumba, who joined the women employees in celebrating the achievements, strength and contributions of women.

Several informative and empowering presentations were delivered, including a presentation by Crest Care Hospital, which provided valuable information to the attendees.

The women employees certainly understood the assignment, turning up in their finest outfits and dressed to kill for the occasion. 💃✨

The celebration was filled with joy, inspiration, empowerment and sisterhood as Makhado Municipality’s women marked the end of Women’s Month on a high note.

MAKHADO MUNICIPALITY SUPPORTS RECYCLERS

There was joy at the Makhado Landfill Site today when Makhado Municipality Mayor, Her Worship Cllr Dorcus Mboyi, handed over Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and recycling waste trollies to recyclers.

The initiative forms part of the Municipality’s ongoing efforts to promote recycling, create a cleaner environment and keep Makhado clean.

The PPEs included work suits, reflective vests and safety boots, aimed at improving the safety and working conditions of recyclers as they contribute towards a cleaner Makhado.

On behalf of recyclers Ms Margaret Madzivheli expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Municipality for the support, saying the equipment will make a meaningful difference in their daily work.

The Mayor was joined by members of the Executive Committee during the handover.

Makhado Town Clean-Up Campaign

Makhado Municipality Mayor, Her Worship Cllr Dorcus Mboyi, today, 27 August 2026, took time away from her busy schedule to lead a clean-up campaign in Makhado Town.

The day’s activities included cleaning public spaces and clearing overgrown bushes in and around the town.

The initiative will contribute to a cleaner, safer and more welcoming Makhado Town. Clearing overgrown bushes will also help improve visibility and reduce spaces where criminals could hide, contributing to efforts to enhance safety in the community.

The Mayor called on residents to play their part by keeping the town clean and reporting areas that require attention.

Together, let us keep Makhado clean, safe and beautiful.

WOMEN TRAFFIC OFFICIALS CLOSING WOMEN’S MONTH IN STYLE

Makhado Municipality women traffic officials, in collaboration with women traffic officials from the Provincial Department of Transport and Community Safety, today, 26 August 2026, brought joy and hope to learners at Mboswobeni Primary School in Tsianda Village.

As part of the Women’s Month closing activities, the officials donated 86 pairs of school shoes, socks and sanitary towels to deserving learners.

The learners were overjoyed and expressed their appreciation for the generous donation.

The initiative demonstrates the spirit of Ubuntu and the commitment of women traffic officials and their partners to supporting learners and making a positive difference in the community.

Together, we can empower our children and build a brighter future.
