Amilcar Cabral advised revolutionaries and leaders alike never to hide anything from the people they lead nor to mask or hide difficulties encountered along the way.

The matter is sub judice which means that is being handled by the courts. It’s a principle in law designed to protect the integrity of the judicial process by limiting public discussion, media commentary, or publication of information about an ongoing case.

Let’s respect the process. Eventually we will know the truth.

A revolution must be driven by a deep and true sense of love for his people - Ernesto Che Guevara.

Equally, a liberation movement must be driven by a genuine attachment to the people and embed itself into their hearts such that its heartbeat becomes synchronised with that of the masses.

The ANC is because of the people.

CoGHSTA REJECTS FALSE NARRATIVE REGARDING ALLEGED ASSET SEIZURE AND
DISPUTED COURT JUDGEMENT.

The Mpumalanga Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA) has noted with concern the Sunday Times article titled - "State Scrambles to Stop R470
Million Asset Seizure"- and wishes to place the facts on record. The allegations and assertions contained in
the reports are devoid of any truth and constitute an atrocious disregard for factual accuracy.

The Department rejects the false narrative being advanced and views the publication as a gross misrepresentation and falsification of facts surrounding the matter.

The Department is concerned that certain reports appear to be devoid of the facts and have become a willing channel for anonymous sources intent on promoting mischief and misinformation. Such reporting undermines public confidence and fails to present a balanced and factual account of the dispute.

CoGHSTA further distances itself from attempts to generate public sympathy and exert undue pressure on it to make payments that are neither due nor payable. “As the custodian of public resources, the Department remains committed to safeguarding public funds and will continue to exercise its responsibilities in strict compliance with the provisions of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)”
, stressed MEC Speed Mashilo.

The Department wishes to clarify that it has formally challenged the default judgment that was issued against it in favour of XJR Construction Company.

Appropriate legal processes are currently underway and the matter remains subject to judicial consideration. In light of these ongoing legal proceedings, it would be inappropriate to comment extensively on issues that are before the courts.

However, the Department remainsconfident in its legal position and will continue to pursue all available legal remedies to protect the interestsof the State and the public purse.

Further, the Department respects the judicial process and remains confident that the legal proceedings
currently underway will provide an appropriate platform for all relevant facts to be placed before the court. “We will continue to take all lawful and necessary measures to protect the public purse while ensuring that all disputes are resolved through the appropriate legal channels”, concluded MEC Mashilo.

Allstakeholders and the public are urged to exercise caution regarding unverified claims and to allow legal
process to run its course.

Together with the Ehlanzeni ANC regional leadership, fellow PEC members and the ANC Provincial Election’s manager, comrade Lucky Ndinisa, we visited Ward 3 in Mkhuhlu in the region - on behalf of the ANC.

During our visit, we engaged local residents about a number of things bothering on the betterment of their lives within the ward. We also donated blankets to help protect our people against the blistering cold that engulf this community as climate change continues to wreck havoc.

We plead with residents of the ward to vote for the African National Congress in this upcoming by-election.

The ANC remains an unparalleled parliament of the people of South Africa and remains committed to advancing the national democratic revolution.

Today we also went to campaign for the ANC in Ward 21 in Nkangala, Dr JS Moroka Subregion, Kabete Primary School VD.

Our people are eager to register to vote for the ANC, just as we all should.

The ANC remains the only organisation that truly is the parliament of the people such that it doesn’t even take decisions on who to deploy as a ward councillor without involving the community.

Don’t be misled.
