ANCYL Branch Secretary visited Hlalakahle Secondary school to welcome learners as part of advocacing for young peoples interest and the constituency in the ward

The reason for the visit is to motivate learners, wish them the best academic year and as part of Right to Learn Campaign to make education fashionable. The remarks was mostly focusing on the "Change" content in an education perspective and self introspection in a year that will seek to lead to the success of their academics and a progress at the end of the year, further adviced those who didn't make to take failure as part of a learning a curve and also to pull up their socks.

SAPS POSTS CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

ANCYL ward 17 Branch Secretary inquired with local SAPS Human Resource Management department with regard to the picture circulating on social media with SAPS General worker post.

The Human Resource Management department confirmed that there is a circular released from the SAPS in Limpopo: General worker post and security post. The information on the picture and the circular are not the same and method to be used to apply. The department further advised that everytime when there are posts we need to check first with relavant people and departments before applying to avoid to be scammed. For those who are interested can visit their nearest police station and request SAPS application form.

Funda Institute

It's an Institute offering free courses: basic fire fighter, First Aid and Safety Health and Environment at Tweefontein. The branch secretary engaged the management telephonically requesting the institute to render the same services in our ward to cater also for the neighboring wards. The request was acknowledged and approved, there will be a final meeting to finalise the logistics.

The ANCYL Branch in ward 17 would like to congratulate the branch secretary Tshepo Seodisa for being elected as the Chairperson of South African Police Service Youth Desk Locally under Vaalbank police station.

The ANCYL in ward 17 believe that the powers vested in the Branch Secretary would in a way champion the interests of young people in the ward through the structure: to raise awareness and dialogue with relating to crime prevention, a space of communication between SAPS and Youth, substance abuse prevention, prevention of violence against women and children. The Youth Desk has to work with other youth development structures to initiate projects and programmes
