There’s something deep and precious about walking with God in the Spirit.

We see it first in the garden. Genesis 3:8 says Adam and Eve heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. But the Hebrew says “the ruach of the day”—the spirit of the day. That means Adam and Eve walked with God in the spirit of the day. It was almost like the SOUND of God walking raptured them into the Spirit.

That's what He wants for us—to walk with Him in the spirit. That’s why Paul says it again and again: walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5 says it multiple times. “Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.” The answer to the flesh is not discipline; the answer is the Spirit.

When we walk in the Spirit, we walk away from our former life. We walk away from fleshly desires. We walk into a realm where grace empowers us. Walking in the Spirit is a spiritual reality.

Don’t think of your legs, for walking with God is not like walking on earth. It’s a way of life—moment by moment, step by step, leaning into His presence.

The Septuagint says Enoch pleased God and walked with Him. The Hebrew word is halak. It means to walk back and forth, to go on a journey, to live life in constant motion with God. Enoch walked with God and then was not. God took him.

The ancient rabbis believe Enoch would flash in and out of heaven. That he would disappear and reappear. He would be taken into heaven and then come back. He floated. He flew. He communed with God so deeply that one day, God said, “Come up here and don’t go back.” That’s the kind of relationship God wants with us.

He wants to walk with you. Not just talk to you. Not just use you. He wants to walk with you.

There’s a progression in Genesis. Adam walked with God in the Spirit of the day. Enoch walked with God and was taken. Then we get to Noah. The Bible says, “Noah walked with God” (Genesis 6:9). The same Hebrew word. Halak. He was walking in the Spirit before the flood came.

God is looking for Enoch-like people again. He’s looking for Noah-like people who will walk with Him even when the world doesn’t. He’s looking for those who will be found righteous, blameless—not because of works, but because of surrender. Because of relationship.

Walking in the Spirit is the only path to holiness. It’s how you live a crucified life. Paul said, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). That’s not behavior management. That’s surrender. That’s union.

You don’t get this from striving. You get it from walking.

It’s not about a platform. It’s not about being used in ministry. It’s about walking. Being led. Being possessed by the presence of the Lord. That’s when fruit begins to grow. Love, joy, peace, patience—it all comes from walking in the Spirit.

The church today doesn’t just need more gifted people. We need people who walk with God. We need people who host His presence, who carry the fragrance of Jesus, who walk in the spirit of the day. That’s what changes atmospheres. That’s what brings heaven to earth.

It’s time to return to the garden. It’s time to walk with Him in the cool of the day—in the ruach. Just like Adam. Just like Enoch. Just like Noah.

God is calling you to walk with Him.

Will we ever be able to understand and perceive the enormously great sacrifice of Jesus, Yeshua, our Lord and Savior. The immense great love He has for us. His great love for us was pleasing to God - An aroma of love.

Be imitators of God in everything you do, for then you will represent your Father as his beloved sons and daughters. And continue to walk surrendered to the extravagant love of Christ, for he surrendered his life as a sacrifice for us. His great love for us was pleasing to God, like an aroma of adoration—a sweet healing fragrance.

My prayer is to never underestimate His great love for us. To try to understand His sacrificial love . To walk a surrendered life so that I can become what He is. A sweet smelling healing fragrance.

About me

In 2020, in simple obedience to His leading, I created Oil of Gladness. What began as one step of faith has grown into a collection of anointing oils created with prayer and a desire to bless the Body of Christ.

I'm a wife, mother, retired nurse, and grandmother who, by God's grace, picked up the mandate He placed before me.

When the call came to create anointing oils for the body of Christ, I did not take it lightly. I didn't rush ahead. Instead, I took it to the Lord in prayer.
I asked Him for clear guidance in every detail. I asked Him to lead me by the Holy Spirit—the name, the logo, the ingredients, and the recipe. I didn't want it to be my idea; I wanted it to be His.

God faithfully answered those prayers.
He led me to Psalm 45, where the phrase "Oil of Gladness" became the name of the first anointing oil.
Through His Word, He also revealed most of the ingredients that would become the first anointing oil.
What began as one step of faith has grown into a collection of anointing oils created with prayer and a desire to bless the Body of Christ.

My prayer is that these anointing oils will be a blessing to the Body of Christ and that, above all, they will glorify the Lord.

Feasting

Psalms 23:5 TPT
You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit; you give me all I can drink of you until my cup overflows.

It's an incredible experience to feel the comfort and safety of God even as our enemies look on. The truth is they can look but they are indeed powerless to touch you as you bask in the Presence of the Lord. Let your heart be open to Jesus right now and speak Psalm 23 into His heart from your heart.

Say the following with all your heart focused on the King, even in the mids of current battles and difficulties you may be experiencing. Speak to the King in the presence of your enemy and He will secure victory:

"Jesus, You are my delicious feast, even when my enemies dare to fight. You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit. You give me all I can drink of You until my cup overflows."
