During the recent devastating storm that affected many families in Bonnievale, we witnessed something truly powerful the spirit of Ubuntu alive within our community.

In the midst of destruction, uncertainty and pain, the people of Bonnievale stood together as one. Neighbours helped neighbours, families opened their homes, volunteers rolled up their sleeves to clean flooded houses, repair damaged homes and bring comfort to those who had lost so much. It reminded us that a community united can overcome even the hardest storms.

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Gift of the Givers, Parmalat, Spirit Foundation and every individual, organisation and volunteer who reached out with compassion and generosity. Your support through food parcels, mattresses, blankets and essential supplies brought hope and relief to many affected families during this difficult time.

What stood out most for me was how councillors from different political parties came together with one purpose to serve our people. We put political differences aside and worked hand in hand for the wellbeing of our community. This is the leadership our people deserve. This is Ubuntu.

To every person who donated, cleaned homes, cooked meals, transported supplies, comforted families or simply checked in on someone in need thank you. Your humanity and kindness did not go unnoticed.

Storms may damage homes, but they can never destroy the strength, resilience and unity of Bonnievale. Together we rebuild. Together we heal. Together we move forward stronger than before.

ā€œUbuntu teaches us that my humanity is tied to yours.ā€

Die ANC Langeberg Sub-Region nooi alle inwoners van Droeheuwel en omliggende areas uit om mĆ“re deel te wees van ā€˜n belangrike gemeenskapsprogram wat plaasvind as deel van die ParlementĆŖre Kiesafdelingsperiode.

Ons Lid van die Parlement, Sharon Davids, saam met die span van die Ashton ParlementĆŖre Kiesafdelingkantoor, bring noodsaaklike dienste direk na die gemeenskap met die doel om te luister, te ondersteun en oplossings te vind vir die uitdagings wat ons mense daagliks ervaar.

EASTER MESSAGE TO THE LANGEBERG COMMUNITY

"He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

As the ANC Langeberg Sub-Region, we extend our warmest wishes to every family across our beautiful Langeberg community for a blessed, peaceful and safe Easter weekend.

This sacred time reminds us of the values of hope, renewal, compassion and unity. Easter calls on us to stand together as a community, to care for one another, and to extend a helping hand to those who are in need. Let us continue to build a society rooted in ubuntu, love and social cohesion.

To those spending this time with family and loved ones, may your homes be filled with joy, peace and togetherness. Cherish every moment and keep one another close in love and support.

To all those travelling on our roads this weekend, we urge you to drive safely, act responsibly, and do not drink and drive. Let us protect lives and ensure that every family arrives safely at their destination.

For those attending church services and spiritual gatherings, may this Easter bring you spiritual renewal, personal growth and renewed strength, so that we may return ready to serve our communities with dedication and compassion.

ANC Langeberg Sub-Region | Psalm Sunday Message

On this blessed Psalm Sunday, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all the people of Langeberg. May this sacred day renew our faith, restore our strength, and remind us that without God, we are nothingā€”but through Him, all things are possible.

As a community, let us stand united in love, humility, and compassion. Let us be there for one another, uplift the broken, support the vulnerable, and bring hope where there is despair. In a world that often divides, we are called to be instruments of unity and peace.

To all our comrades, leaders, councillors, and public representatives: this day calls us to reflect deeply on our responsibility. God expects from us hearts of service, integrity, and selflessness. We are not placed in positions of leadership for status, but for serviceā€”to be the voice of the voiceless, the strength of the weak, and the hope of our communities.
