A SUCCESSFUL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION!

Yesterday, 9 August 2026, the ANC Women’s League Boland Region – Langeberg Sub-Region proudly hosted a beautiful and empowering Women’s Day Celebration at the Happy Valley Community Hall.

It was a truly successful programme filled with unity, sisterhood, inspiration and celebration. We came together to honour the strength, courage and resilience of women, while reflecting on the important role women continue to play in building stronger families, communities and our country.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, participated and contributed towards making the day a success. Your presence, energy and commitment made the celebration special.

Let us continue to stand together as women supporting one another, uplifting our communities and creating opportunities for the generations that follow.

✊🏾 Wathint' Abafazi, Wathint' Imbokodo!
When you strike a woman, you strike a rock.

HONOURING THE WOMEN OF 1956 🖤💚💛

70 years later, we honour the courage of the more than 20,000 women who marched against apartheid and the enduring legacy of Isithwalandwe Mam’ Sophie de Bruyn. Their struggle for the full emancipation of women continues. 🖤💚💛

To the Women of Langeberg — Happy Women’s Day

Today, 9 August, we celebrate the women of Langeberg women whose strength, courage, sacrifice and determination continue to shape our families, our communities and our country.

Women’s Day is not simply a day of flowers, messages and celebrations. It is a reminder of the 20,000 courageous women who marched to the Union Buildings on 9 August 1956, standing together against unjust pass laws and declaring that women would not remain silent in the face of oppression. Their courage reminds us that when women stand together, speak together and support one another, change is possible.

Today, our struggles may look different, but the call for courage remains. We must continue to stand against gender-based violence, discrimination, poverty, inequality and the silencing of women. We must create homes and communities where women and girls are safe, respected, heard and given every opportunity to fulfil their dreams.

To every mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, wife, worker, entrepreneur, student, caregiver, community activist and woman who quietly carries the burdens of others — we see you, we value you and we honour you.

May we never underestimate the power of a woman who refuses to give up. May we encourage one another instead of pulling each other down, open doors for those coming behind us, and teach our daughters that their voices matter and their dreams are worth pursuing.

To the women of Langeberg: continue to walk with courage, lead with compassion, speak with confidence and stand together with hope. Our history tells us what women can achieve when they unite and our future depends on what we choose to do together today.

Happy Women’s Day, Langeberg.
Your voice matters. Your dignity matters. Your future matters.
May you continue to rise, inspire, lead and build a better tomorrow. 🖤💚💛

ANC LANGEBERG SUB-REGION THANKS RESIDENTS FOR ANSWERING THE CALL TO REGISTER

The ANC Langeberg Sub-Region extends its sincere gratitude to every resident of Langeberg who answered the call during the 2026 Local Government Elections voter registration weekend.

We thank the community members who visited voting stations to register for the first time, update their voting details, or confirm their information on the voters' roll. Your participation demonstrates a commitment to strengthening our democracy and ensuring that every voice counts.

We also wish to express our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated volunteers, activists, branch members, Local Election Teams (LETs), Branch Election Teams (BETs), organisers, and supporters who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend. From the early hours of the morning until the close of registration, they stood at voting stations across Langeberg assisting residents, encouraging voter participation, and ensuring that no eligible voter was left behind.

Although physical voter registration has now closed, the opportunity to register or update your details has not yet ended.

The online voter registration portal remains open until midnight on Friday, 7 August 2026. Eligible voters can still register or update their voting details online quickly, securely, and at no data cost across all major mobile networks by visiting:

The ANC Langeberg Sub-Region encourages every eligible resident who has not yet registered, or who needs to update their voting address or personal details, to make use of this final opportunity.

Together, we continue building a stronger democracy where every vote contributes to shaping the future of our communities.

Your voice matters. Your vote matters.

ANC LANGEBERG SUB-REGION DOOR-TO-DOOR CAMPAIGN & ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION

Today the ANC Langeberg Sub-Region successfully conducted a Door-to-Door Campaign and Online Voter Registration drive in Zolani, Ashton, led by Cde Mcebisi Skwatsha, ANC Western Cape Provincial Task Team (PTT) Member.

The programme provided an opportunity to engage directly with residents, listen to their concerns, encourage active participation in democracy, and assist eligible community members with online voter registration and the verification of their registration details.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all volunteers, organisers, members, supporters and the residents of Zolani who welcomed us into their homes and contributed to the success of today's programme.

Together, we continue to strengthen our communities, deepen democracy and work towards building a better life for all.
