The ANCYL Regional Task Team congratulates Cllr. Phaladi Matsole on election as Executive Mayor of Mafube Local Municipality and Cde. Mamonaila on his election as the Speaker of Council.
The ANCYL RTT expresses confidence that the leadership of the new political administration will contribute towards stabilising governance, strengthening institutional functionality, and restoring public confidence in Mafube. The municipality requires decisive and disciplined leadership focused on addressing service delivery backlogs, improving administrative efficiency, and enforcing consequence management across all structures.
The ANCYL emphasises the urgent prioritisation of clean governance, financial discipline, and accelerated service delivery, particularly in water provision, road infrastructure, and waste management, as core constitutional obligations of local government.
Youth development must be elevated as a strategic priority through the effective activation of Youth Development Offices (YDOs) and Local Economic Development (LED) Units, ensuring the meaningful inclusion of young people in economic participation, planning processes and development programmes.
The ANCYL reaffirms support for all initiatives aimed at strengthening Mafube Municipality, restoring institutional credibility, and improving socio-economic conditions within communities. Support is extended to the Mayor and the collective in advancing a stable, efficient, and developmental local government system.
