African education, particularly through the initiation school. African education has a rich tradition of oral storytelling, deep wisdom, and spiritual and communal learning that differs significantly from many Western educational systems. This immersive and often intense journey can be humbling and grounding, requiring patience, resilience, and a strong sense of self.

The idea that "abafundi bayafundiswa" (students are being taught) reflects a respect for the process and the deep, often personal, learning that occurs. This journey not only imparts knowledge but also shapes character and worldview, often challenging one's previous beliefs and understandings.

The rigorous nature of this education, requiring strength and endurance, underscores its depth and transformative potential. It serves as a reminder of the diverse ways knowledge can be acquired and the profound impacts these different educational experiences can have on an individual's personal and intellectual growth.

I had to share this: I displayed the Ekhayalempilo poster at Sakhumzi Restaurant and was amazed when I was told they took them down because a minister was visiting the place. I guess the poster was deemed inappropriate for the minister to see. It felt as though the posters were promoting something as controversial as prostitution.

Come to think of it, Imbizo Tours has been promoting the same restaurant to tourists for many years. Ekhayalempilo is another tourism development in Soweto that should be known and create jobs, just as they helped the restaurant do the same.
