TWO COUPLES SAY “I DO” AT CHILILABOMBWE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL

Just three days into the month of September, Chililabombwe Municipal Council witnessed the solemnisation of two marriages, marking a beautiful beginning to the couples’ journey of love and companionship.

The first ceremony was held at the Council’s Legal Department at exactly 08:49 hours, where Mr. Innocent and Ms. Foster exchanged their vows and were officially declared Mr. and Mrs. Chikopa.

Later in the day, the Council witnessed its second wedding, as Mr. Gift and Ms. Claudina solemnised their marriage and were officially declared Mr. and Mrs. Lungu.

Both ceremonies were officiated by the Chililabombwe Municipal Council Registrar of Marriages, Madam Mirriam Nachilima.

Chililabombwe Municipal Council extends its heartfelt congratulations to both couples and wishes them a lifetime filled with love, happiness, peace, understanding, and many beautiful years together.

CMC Congratulates the Mayor elect Mr. Nawa Kanengu on His Election as Chililabombwe Mayor

Chililabombwe Municipal Council and Management warmly congratulates Mr. Nawa Kanengu on his election as the Mayor of Chililabombwe.

Mr. Kanengu previously served as Kawama Ward Councillor .

Chililabombwe District Electoral Officer (DEO), Mrs. Shilla Songolo, announced that Mr. Kanengu emerged victorious in the just-ended elections, garnering 16,352 votes.

In his remarks, the Mayor elect thanked the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) and the Zambia Police Service for ensuring peaceful elections.

He further pledged to work in partnership with the Council to promote development and contribute to the continued growth and transformation of Chililabombwe.

Congratulations once again on this well-deserved victory.

CHILILABOMBWE CONDUCTS BALLOT PAPER VERIFICATION AHEAD OF POLLING DAY

Chililabombwe – 12th August 2026

Chililabombwe District has today conducted the verification of ballot papers in readiness for the 2026 August 13 Elections, with various stakeholders in attendance.

The District Election Officer (DEO), who is also the Town Clerk, Mrs. Shilla Songolo, welcomed the stakeholders and thanked them for participating in the verification exercise.

In her remarks, Mrs. Songolo stated that the deployment of polling staff would be undertaken today, with all election materials expected to be delivered to the respective polling stations in readiness for voting tomorrow.

Mrs. Songolo thanked all stakeholders for their participation and encouraged eligible voters to turn out in large numbers and exercise their democratic right to vote.

The stakeholders commended the transparency demonstrated throughout the verification process, noting that the exercise provided an opportunity for all stakeholders to witness and appreciate the integrity of the ballot paper verification process.
