VERIFICATION OF THE NOMINATED COUNCILLORS AS PER CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT- LIMULUNGA DISTRICT

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) today concluded a verification exercise for three nominated councillors representing Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities in Limulunga District.
The exercise provided an opportunity for the ECZ to confirm the details and eligibility of the nominated councillors as part of the process of formalising their representation on the Council.
The three nominated councillors are:
• Madam Charity Kaiko Musasa – representing Women
• Mr. Katete Kabanda – representing Persons with Disabilities
• Madam Ruth Muyatwa – representing Youth
The verification forms part of the electoral process for nominated councilors, in accordance with the Constitution of Zambia, as amended.

The three join the rest that include elected Councillors and those representing Tradional Authority. Members of Parliament are also back in the Council Chamber as Councillors countrywide.

We wish nominated councilors all the best as they represent the interests of the groups they serve in local governance.

Limulunga Town Council wishes to inform the general public, stakeholders, and residents of Luena Constituency that the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Civic Leaders will take place tomorrow, Thursday, 10th September 2026.

The Council warmly invites all stakeholders, community leaders, residents, and members of the general public to attend and witness this important occasion as the civic leaders officially take up their responsibilities in service to the people of Luena Constituency and Limulunga District as a whole.

Come and witness the swearing-in ceremony as our civic leaders begin their tenure (2026-2031) of service to the community.

LUENA CONSTITUENCY ELECTION UPDATE
The totaling of results for Luena Constituency has been successfully concluded, following the completion of results from all 64 polling stations.
Chimwaso Maliti has been declared Member of Parliament for Luena Constituency, while Lubinda Muyunda has been declared Council Chairperson for Limulunga District.
The following 13 Ward Councillors have also been declared elected:
1. Aaron Inambao – Sitoya Ward
2. Mukwita Nasilele – Simaa Ward
3. Muimui Muimui – Makuku Ward
4. Mukelabai Mukelabai – Ituku Ward
5. Makumba Munalula – Miulwe Ward
6. Lindunda Mwikisa – Ushaa Ward
7. Lubasi P. Mwangala – Ikwichi Ward
8. Sikombwa Songolo – Namboma Ward
9. Limpo Gift – Limulunga West Ward
10. Nalukui Nasitoze – Limulunga East Ward
11. Sindanyambe Milimo– Ndanda Ward
12. Blessed Sicacani – Nangula Ward (elected unopposed)
13. Sikopo Muyangana – Mabili Ward (elected unopposed)

LUENA CONSTITUENCY ELECTION UPDATE
The totaling of results for Luena Constituency is currently underway, with results from all 64 polling stations being brought to the Totaling Centre. So far, 43 out of the 64 polling stations have been totaled, with the process continuing for the remaining polling stations.
Meanwhile, four Ward Councillors have so far been declared, in addition to two Councillors who were declared elected unopposed, bringing the total number of declared Ward Councillors to six. The totaling process remains ongoing, and further updates will be shared as results are officially declared.
