Mundubile,Makebi Handed Over to Police

2026 National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity -NRPUP- Presidential election candidate BRIAN MUNDUBILE and his running mate MAKEBI ZULU have been handed over to police and are currently undergoing interviews.

Police spokesperson GODFREY CHILABI has confirmed the development to ZNBC News, saying the two opposition leaders are being interviewed by a team of law enforcement officers and their lawyers are present.

Mr. CHILABI said police will issue an official statement once the interview process has been concluded.

The questioning follows a police summons issued to Mr. MUNDUBILE and Mr. ZULU in connection with investigations into alleged activities that police say have the potential to threaten national security.

The two have been under the protection of the United Nations in Lusaka.

Police say no injuries observed on Lisa’s body as investigations continue!

Police in Lusaka say no physical injuries were observed on the body of 25-year-old Lisa Mutambo, whose death was sudden after she reportedly began vomiting and later became unconscious following a night out.

Mutambo was pronounced dead upon arrival at Victoria Hospital in the early hours of today.

The matter was reported to Chelstone Police Station at around 09:30 hours on August 20, 2026. The incident is believed to have occurred between 03:30 and 04:30 hours at Victoria Hospital.

According to preliminary police findings, Mutambo spent the evening of August 19 in the company of two female friends at a named hotel where she served as an ambassador. At around 22:30 hours, the three reportedly proceeded to another drinking place in Lusaka, where they continued socialising.

Between 02:30 and 03:00 hours on August 20, Mutambo’s boyfriend, identified as Caleb Lisa, also known as Andrea, reportedly picked up the three women. He later dropped the two friends in the Minestone/Casanova area and remained with Mutambo, with whom he was reportedly staying in Kalundu
Police say that upon arriving at their residence, Mutambo began vomiting and later became unconscious.

Her boyfriend reportedly contacted a friend, who assisted in taking her to Victoria Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police officers processed both the primary and secondary scenes. The body was initially deposited at FSG Mortuary before being transferred to the University Teaching Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Police have since opened an inquiry file, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding Mutambo’s death continue.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Chipo Kaitisha says police will provide further information as investigations progress.

Chester, IDC, Felix to appear in Court on allegations of stoning a Police vehicle!

Musician Moses Ng’andwe, popularly known as Chester MoPower, Felix Mangani Phiri, widely known as Felix Ndangeni Inshila, and comedian Winston Ngosa, also known as IDC Light Comedy, remain in custody in Mongu District alongside 17 other suspects following their arrest on August 5, 2026.

Lawyer for the accused, Wisdom Nyirenda, who took up the matter on August 9, says that when he joined the case, police had not yet opened dockets for the suspects, despite them already being in detention.

MNyirenda says the suspects were apprehended in Kalabo, but the dockets indicate that they were arrested in Mongu. He says the group is accused of stoning a police vehicle during the incident that led to their arrest.

The lawyer says the suspects have since been formally charged with riotous behaviour and is hopeful that they will appear before the courts on August 20, 2026.

Meanwhile, filmmaker Cosmas Ng’andwe, who visited the 17 suspects in Mongu, has called on fellow artists in the creative sector to show up and support the detained artists while allowing the law to take its course.
